He's represented England at u18 level but since then done fuck all apart from forest green, clearly a Hockaday signing due to forest green connections. My problem is forest green were shit under hockday and this lad has been dropped since he left, give him chance yes but let's be honest chances are he's not the next Ashley cole or even Greg downes, chris Morgan, Steve froggat, kenny Sansom you get the idea.

In short I'm calling shit.

There is more to this than you can see..it ain't forest green that does not want him only the new manager. He was always first choice before the new manager arrived , they had a falling out so Stokesy was left out. Give the lad a chance you might be supprised. Chech out what the FGR fans think of him on their forum....player of the year not long age ..playing for England C last year. He maybe the best signing made this year!!

Fair enough, you obviously know much more about him than we do. I always like to see non-league players get a chance higher up and hope that he does well for us. You've got to admit though, it does look a bit strange, a L1 club signing what, on paper at the moment at least, is a Conference teams reserve LB? Why isn't he playing, what's the manager's problem with him?

Also last time I checked we had our own promising left back so I'm not sure why we need the dynamic force that is chris stokes, stokey to his mates.

Ah Grendel is alright, yeah he disagrees with people and loves a row but he raises lots of valid points once you get past the rude grumpiness.

I stand by my assessment of stokes though before even seeing him play (partly down to six carling).............,.,,he's shite

"Today, we have an imbalance in the ratio of loan to permanent players in the squad."

Since then, we have signed 5 players on loan

if ever there was a sentence that summed up SP's 38 or so signings.....

Biggest thing that pisses me off bout those that question the manager from the media. You said this and now this. Why? Have re read the Cet article about his Scunthorpe comments and am sure Andy turner just couldn't believe his ears

Just guessing, but presumably SP and SW decided that, with the money available, they could get more skilful and 'hungrier' players on loans, than free agents. I suspect the signing of Chis Stokes on loan rather than as a permanent signing is because: a) SP wants to check out how he performs in competitive games before making a longer commitment, b) Reda may hopefully be fit in 28 days time, (yeah wishful thinking I know..............) and c) Odelusi's unfortunate ham string injury means SP is likely to still only have a total of 5 fit loan players in the match squad for the next four weeks.

Chief Commentator!
Thought he did well today! Shame he wasn't sent up for more corners after he scored. Seemed a. Odd tactic i thought.

At HT he looked knackered. Even crouching down as if to catch breath at the whistle. But fair play to him for carrying on and seeing out the 90
