Am I the only one starting to hate the place?

I still like it and the Wasps signs don't bother me at all.

We have success then the Ricoh will be fantastic stadium. The only reason it has been poor in terms of atmosphere etc. is because we have been a pile of crap on the field.

Next season a new pitch will be laid, so that problem will hopefully be solved.

Be careful what you wish for. If a new stadium ever was built, how would you feel if it was many miles away from Coventry? Think you would then be bemoaning the fact we left the Ricoh.

The Ricoh is a top class stadium. Just wish it was ours.

Once in I can't say I notice the Wasps signs. Possibly because I'm there for this football not Wasps sign spotting.

It will never be as good as HR but it is our home ground and always will be so I can accept it for what it is. Just needs better crowds which needs a better product on the pitch but then we're getting into chicken and egg territory.

Same here. I don't even notice the Wasps signs, just in the same way I pay no notice of the same advertising hoardings there game after game after game.

At the end of the day the Ricoh is all we have. If a new stadium ever was built, what do you think it will be? A first class stadium we can be proud of, or a bolt on, cheapo, generic stadium, with no charcater, that looks exactly like dozens and dozens of others?

highfied road wasnt the best place to be when we were playing poorly, need to get behind the place and move on

People's memories are foggy.

Loads of moans about Highfield Road when we were there are how lacking in atmosphere it was.

Not many was moaning about the Ricoh when we were regularly getting 20k +. On pitch success/failure makes a massive difference on atmosphere.

Nothing at all wrong with the Ricoh. No atmosphere because it's empty. No one would be moaning if we were getting 20,000 every week. A fine stadium.

It was more the Wasps shop and the giant badge by the reception, I haven't seen that for a while as I've been walking the opposite way but walked that way yesterday and its really sad to see.

I must admit that it does get your attention but once I'm in the ground I'm all business.

I'm not the biggest fan of the ricoh but.....to say we'd be better off at sixfields is just plain stupid!

I can feel exactly what you're getting at.

In terms of sentiment;

Don't get me wrong, it's in Coventry and 100% better than Shitfields.. but with all that's gone on, knowing we don't own it, and all the public debate and slagging matches between SISU, the Council and Wasps, it's sort of left me not really feeling like it's our home at all.

Knowing we only have a couple of years lease there and it's now owned by a rugby club from London.. it leaves a bit of a sour taste in your mouth to the place. That place was built to be our home, now it's owned by a franchise rugby team and we're simply paying tenants on a short term deal.

In terms of the physical ground;

I've never particularly liked it's design. I think it's a generic bowl stadium exactly the same as 30 others, just with different colour seats in. Even if it had two tier stands like they have at the Amex & Milton Keynes, that would be something.

I'm probably not the best person for opinions on the design of the ground as I always have and always will be, a massive fan of the old fashioned grounds, with pillars, rubbish views, and 4 stand grounds with the corners filled in after - Elland Road, Upton Park, Bramall Lane etc proper football!

The Ricoh feels unfinished. The area around the ground feels temporary. Considering the massive build cost the finish to the stadium isn't great.

How can you compare Highfield Road with Ricoh. Compared to this highfeild road was a dump.Do you remember the 8 K and 10K crowds for Div 1 games ?

I have hated the place since we moved there. Soulless, cold and horrible place and like someone else said, I get the feeling that its not been finished for some strange reason. It is too big for us now and the layout has always been wrong with the press and corporates all on the same side of the ground.

The Ricoh is certainly now the problem. Yes the fact we don't own it is a problem but that doesn't make the Ricoh the right place to be.

What's the alternative sixfields or outside of Coventry is a smaller similar style arena? No thanks

But a bowl is just 4 stands with the corners filled in ?
Even the old grounds are filling the corners in.

MK is overrated though. As we invade it every year, the crowd is significantly higher than it is in other weeks. When I went there for the game against Wimbledon, the atmosphere was shocking bar the supporters from London.

That game against Gillingham at the Ricoh was up there with the best atmospheres I have experienced. It's just incredible dull when it is empty.

Next season, SISU must close the telegraph.

In league 2 I would shut half the stadium.

Given we're only occupying 25% of the capacity, we should have closed half of it this season, but then again they tried to do that and fans threw a wobbly about not being able to sit on their old seats, not there's about 200 people behind the goal.

I agree, I think the Ricoh is a good stadium which given the right amount of success could be a cracking one. I think the difference with our old one is that HR was a football ground and had that nostalgic feel to it but it could also be god awful on a wet windy Wednesday half empty.

I only have a few reservations about the Ricoh and the main two for me are the location and the fact the away supporters are miles away. Used to love HR being next to away fans and having some good natured fun.

Should never have been opened up this season.
