I would open up 16-23 and then put the away fans more central in the south stand rather than in the corner.

I liked the Ricoh when we moved there but now with all that Wasps shit around it I can't stand it.

I think many look back at HR and think back more to the football than the place, I always thought it was a dump (but it was our dump) the atmosphere was sometimes terrible, I may be wrong but I am sure there were games when we played the big teams that they switched the standing areas round as we had so few fans.

HR was a bit of a dump.

I still love the Ricoh, Wasps signs or not. still very much feels like home to me.

pusbccfc;88004. That game against Gillingham at the Ricoh was up there with the best atmospheres I have experienced. It's just incredible dull when it is empty. .[/QUOTE said:
Finally I've found a benefit of being older!! :)

If we moved back to high field road hypothetically then people would moan soon enough. That's life, we've only been back at the Ricoh 7 months and already people hate it.

Selective memories.

Many people used to moan about HR and the poor atmosphere and restricted views etc.

Exactly. The Ricoh was built for progression and it is a fine stadium that we should be proud of more so if ccfc owned it admittedly but it is great for the city I live in.

No one on here likes the facts wasps own ACL but that's the case and we have to work for a solution not moan about how crap the Ricoh is.

To say I want to go back to HR is just a reaction to how we've been treated as fans which is nothing short of horrendous. The Ricoh was the right move at the wrong time now let's use it to our Advantage and on a full house the place is rocking.

Yep. Let's just how crap the Ricoh seems if we ever do announce a new stadium and it's miles away in the middle of nowhere and a cheap build and a third of the size.

Rumours on facefook today, that Wasps are changing the seats during the summer..

1.) Can they?
2.) Can they afford too?
3.) Didn't they already say they weren't interest in changing seats?

A few hate it and a lot just moan about it to justify not supporting the team.

You do know that not everything on Facebook is not true don't you ?
Now if it was on Twitter I would believe it

They can do what they want. Wasps run the stadium. We are just tenants.

Yes, they said they weren't going to change the seats. But since then Tim Fisher came out and said we have absolutely no intention of staying whatsoever, so if they can afford to do it, it would be daft of Wasps NOT to change the seats.

They can do what they want, its their stadium. Whether they do is probably down to revenue. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see the CCFC replaced with WASPS, they have covered it up with a huge black cloth at the last 2 games.

I think they will not bother while CCFC might remain their.
Just wish TF would start to work with them rather than play games saying we are moving out.
The longer he does this the more they will believe him and the more they will customise the stadium for themselves.
I think the seats are a step too far at the moment.
I could see a re positioning of some of the black seats to spell Wasps but again I think to remove all CCFC seat names would be a step too far.

Fisher should have kept his mouth shut and said nowt. What a stupid thing to say that we have no intention of staying when we haven't even found a location to begin to consider for any potential new stadium.

It makes us look incredibly stupid as a club.

Thanks Otis, the rumour was started by a person who works within The Ricoh.

.

And there lies the problem. In my opinion he acts like a child with all this new stadium carp "If I cant have the other kids toys on my terms Mummy will buy me my own toys"

Can you imagine the board meeting after Wasps secured The Ricoh

JS "So Timmy, how is your plan to buy The Ricoh for £1 coming on"
TF "Mummy, its so not fair some bigger boys came and took it off me"
JS "Oh Timmy darling, when will you learn, here have some more money go and sue someone"

I like how they come out and say they won't be changing seats, then if they do it won't be that they were lying it will be tim fishers fault.

They run it, they can do what they want with it

By change the seats do you mean change the colour or rearrange them so it spells out Wasps at one end?

They can of course do what they want but I wouldn't have thought it made much sense financially to replace all the seats just so they are a different colour.

Would pay zero attention to them saying it won't happen, it will happen at some point, just a matter of when it makes sense for them to do it.

Didn't the new stadium committee recommend it ?
Some problem with sky blue colour confusing the players.
The rumour on Twitter was that it's Yellow and black ? :)

I know it's de rigueur to slag off HR and claim the Ricoh as some kind of Utopian dream but hold on a mo. Personally, out of the two grounds there has been more excitement and atmosphere at "our" old ground than "their" new one. You also said it was a dump. Again, not strictly true. It had certainly seen better days but the building of the new East Stand was an indication of what might have been if we'd stayed there. It's a shame that Richardson hadn't had the foresight to cost replacing the old stands and filling in the corners rather than moving to the Ricoh; an insipid and uninspiring place. Even more so now.

Each to their own of course, but give me HR any day.

And the ludicrous predicament we are in now, (exacerbated by Sisu for sure) stems back to this period; that man, all his cronies, those sitting around the big table. All of them should hang their collective heads in shame.

Geez, we even thought some might return as saviours.

Loved the place. My eldest two both say that their best ever game was against WBA on the day of the tsunami. They were with me behind the goal and went as mental as anyone else when we got the winner right at the end. The atmosphere was electric. They ended up joining in with every song. Not bad considering that they both support other clubs. And the eldest is used to seeing the Glasgow derbies of old.

I didn't care about the stinking toilets or the poor refreshments. Restrictive views? Rarely a game where you couldn't move to a good spot. The location was good. It was a proper ground. Yes when it was bad it WAS bad. But when it was good it was a great place to be. Lots of fond memories I will never forget.

The sad thing is there was a plan to re-build HR, I saw the blue prints and it would have been magnificent, but this old gas works project reared it's head and I think people were sucked into it, I include Richardson in that, and well we are where we now are I'm afraid.

And isn't that all a fan can ask for.

One memory, rather hazy is a midweek game in cup vs. Man City. It was played at lunch(ish) time. It poured down and being under the Sky Blue stand, hundreds forced their way up into the seats.

I'd only sat in the seats at reserve games in the Main stand. Even on some of these games, you'd see future players that were OURS, and there was a good atmosphere.

Isn't life but an album of memories.? :D Aaah Happy Days.

I think the excitement and atmosphere was more a case of having something to get excited about which hasn't really happened at the Ricoh. If we had moved to the Ricoh and stormed into the premier league I'm sure we would have a different view.

With the benefit of hindsight we should have stayed but how much would it have costed to completely rebuild 3 stands? You would also need to buy up houses behind each of the stands as we were pretty tightly locked in.

I have a vague memory of this being looked into at some point many years ago and it being declared a non starter but I can't really remember anymore than that.

Of course an old and decrepit HR with no rebuilt stands would be a better situation to be in than hte one we are in now.
