They finally explained in detail what happened at the siege of Winterfell, which had remained a bit of a mystery since it was shown last year.

Game of Thrones season 4 will be simulcast in the UK and US.

The news was confirmed by Sky tonight (March 25) at the launch of the new run, with the broadcaster revealing that the show will be screened in the middle of the night on Sky Atlantic, coinciding with the US East Coast airing.

Game of Thrones begins its fourth season on HBO on Sunday, April 6 at 9pm ET, meaning it will air in the UK at 2am on Monday, April 7.

The new episodes will also still be shown at 9pm on Mondays as usual.

I laughed out loud at that ending, I just hope the season hasn't peaked too early.

What's with Jamie Lannister though, he doesn't look or talk anything like he did in the previous three seasons?

Wow, superb episode.

Spolier:
Loved how annoying Joffrey was getting. I really thought Tyrion would stab that bitch, I kind of got this sense that this is the episode the c*nt dies. Everywhere on the net there were hints with "purple wedding" comments. Hate these spoilers, feckers.

Anyway, glad he is gone. I wanted a worse death for Joffrey. I wanted him to humiliate, beg for life, cry on his knees.

Wow, now the throne is wide open again.

IMO Jaime is the most interesting character in books, and the actor and showrunners have done a good job in handling the character's transition. In the books his appearance changes more radically - a crewcut and a beard. I suspect the voice has changed because they've tried to knock the arrogance out of it after his experiences in captivity.

The TV writers did a fantastic bit of adaptation in last week's episode when they had Joffrey taunt Jaime over his lack of accomplishments, managing to establish Jaime's new motivation in one scene. In the books, that took several chapters from Jaime's POV/thought process.

The actress who plays Tyrions mistress Shae is an ex-porn star.

Some interesting "cumpilations" on You Porn etc, and a good way to improve your German language skills.

UK to miss out on Game of Thrones global simulcast

HBO has announced the eagerly-anticipated fifth season of hit drama Game of Thrones will be screened simultaneously around the world. However, UK viewers will unfortunately be left out in the cold.

In a move designed, in part, to cut down on the rampant, record-breaking piracy spawned by the show’s popularity, the U.S. network will give everyone the chance to watch at the same time through its global portals.

However, Sky Atlantic has exclusive rights to screen GoT in the United Kingdom and the broadcaster told Pocket-Lint it plans to air the show in its usual slot on Monday evenings at 9pm.

Sky says it is sticking to the time slot so everyone in the UK can enjoy the show together, either through broadcast TV or on the NOW TV streaming platform, rather than fragmenting the audience.

However, that’s a blow for Brits hoping to stay up late and watch the show in order to avoid the gauntlet of potential spoilers lurking around the internet or from inconsiderate friends, colleagues or people on the bus.

Avoiding spoilers has become an ordeal associated with the show largely due to the abundance of dramatic and shocking plot twists. Brits will once again have to spend ten Mondays in an internet and conversation-free cocoon in order to ensure the mysteries stay intact until 9pm.

Funnily enough, I have just started watching the series today.

On season 1, episode 4. Impressed so far.

Yeah im on nights this week so should get through series 4 by the weekend

My deduction thus far is that Sam Tarley should be king.

My other favourite character is Tyrian Lannister, especially when he does his double act with Bron.

The trouble is we'll only get ten episodes then it's another nine month wait till the next season. By then I'll have forgotten everything which happened previously.

Probably why it is best to watch a whole series in one go. Trouble is then you are open to leaked info all over the internet and press.

Anyway, did an all-nighter pretty much last night and have now watched all of season 4 too, so I am totally up to date.

You like Tyrian?

Guess I had better not tell you then about the red hot poker that gets shoved up his arse in episode 7, or that Reek's penis grows back in episode 5.
