nonsense. Agree with the last sentence though, the Ricoh is a soulless depressing place.

Why not? You pay to be entertained. It's probably over priced for the same sort of time span. You talk to people about films and how you rate them. You moan if a film is shit but have your favourite actors and actress. Very similar and sometimes more atmosphere at showcase than the Ricoh

If people don't go to football to be entertained, what do they do it for?

Nothing wrong with that crowd at all for an appalling football side who have been reduced to such lows by this despicable hedge fund. You couldn't squeeze in that crowd to most grounds in our pitiful league. Some will still make excuses for SISU and somehow point accusing fingers at absent fans and the size of the Ricoh but the fault and blame lies only with owners who took a punt on a football club to realise that they were out of their depth from the start. Their current policy of trying to hoodwink genuine supporters with false hopes about the future is shameful. Their ambitions lie no further than grabbing your Season ticket cash yet again and turning out a side full of kids and other clubs failures and misfits.

Of course... Joy is taking our season ticket money directly so she can get herself a new pair of shoes with matching handbag.

We have a team of misfits and kids and shit journeymen because we can't afford anything else.

That's because over the last 20 years we've been fucked over by old owners, current owners and a shit hypocritical council - whilst stupidly trying to live beyond our means because we can't actually make any money because we don't OWN anything.

SISU are out of their depth... I totally agree. In fact I would say every single person that has touched this football club since the mid 90's has been out of their depth, this has culminated into this perfect storm of shit that puts us where we are today.

The future looks bleak no matter who owns us, no matter where we play and no matter who's the manager.

We've got no hope unless someone takes a punt on us and throws millions and millions at us. Which is fine until they decide they want a return on it.

Of course people do, but it's more than just entertainment, isn't it? If not 99% of people would just support Man City, Utd and Chelsea. You need to throw in tradition, hope, family, loyalty into the mix too. You're as bad as SISU if you think it's just about entertainment as that correlates with "customers" rather than fans. It's more than that and it always has been.

I want to be entertained as much as anyone and sometimes I am, which stokes the hope and the desire to do better.

That post is bizarre. Because the fans moan about a wayward ball, your using that as excuse for where we are? That's incredible.

So the cost cutting tactics by sisu aren't to blame? The players SW hand picked to get us in this situation. The negativity of Presley in games.

We've been piss poor again this season and your saying the fans haven't got a right to moan? When you watch shit your gonna grumble. If you have a shit meal, you'll complain. If you go the cinema and watch a shit film your gonna complain. Why should football be anything different? They'll get support but they need to earn it. This side has not earnt the support

You're projecting to say I'm using it as an excuse for where we are.

Its more than moaning about a wayward ball, it's moaning about everything.

'Why don't you shoot'
'don't shoot'
'sort your passing out'
'can't you kick a ball'

Why do you think you have a right to moan? Be positive, support the team.

Out of interest, who do you complain to when you go to the cinema?

In the 1961/62 season we were a mid table 3rd division team and our average attendance was 10k.

In the 1963/64 season we were a top 3rd division team and our average attendance was 26k.

Crowds went up by 16k in just two seasons, due to success on the pitch and management with ambition.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that wouldn't happen again.

There is also absolutely nothing to suggest it would happen again. Without wanting to repeat myself, both football and Coventry have changed. We will just have to agree to disagree.

It's very easy to blame the Ricoh for our performances but it struck me earlier that is may be due instead to us not being very good at football. Everyone has a talent and rather than change the team in the Summer we should change the activity. Let's do some tests with the current team and find out what they excel at. Nouble, for example, might be very good at growing vegetables. If he laid down his beetroots in the touch area I'm sure Wasps wouldn't mind and it would provide a tasty, healthy treat for try scorers. Burge may be an excellent computer programmer and could hack the league table to keep us safe whilst we are busy doing other things. And Willis could be an extra on Coronation Street or something. In the Jimmy Hill days we were innovators. By moving away from football to something we are good at we could be changing the face of football in this country.

Edit: It would also be very good throughout the club. I'd love to see the youth team helping Nouble with his turnips.

Apart from your tongue in cheek first line I agree with all of that. Trouble is we're still being spun a line about upper quartile budgets, new stadiums, state aid, blah blah blah. Fisher and Waggot have to go, I'm sick of hearing their pathetic statements of intent. There is no cohesion from top to bottom of the club. What upset me most yesterday wasn't the lack of quality, it was the lack of effort, the lack of pride in the shirt, the ready made excuse SISU provide the players with for failure. It's regime change or nothing for most people but they won't let go will they and there must be financial reasons why these sharks hang on for grim death whilst saying almost nothing.

You can blame SISU and Waggot for getting players who just aren't good enough and who lack quality, but you can't blame them for the lack of pride in the shirt, regardless of whether a players in on loan or not. Personally, I don't think the loan players lack any more desire than those who are "ours".

Pride comes from the players, passion comes from the players and is stoked by the fans in the terraces. It is THEY - the players - who let us down yesterday, the same eleven who played so well at Bristol.

Lot of truth in all that. I just cannot fathom why these players have no urgency, hardly a tackle goes in, they shy away from taking anyone on, there's no aggression or apparent anger at being 3- nil down at home.

I won't go to Crawley next Sunday to watch a particular film in a particular chain of cinemas. It's a rubbish comparison. It's second only to comparing the Ricoh to renting a house.

I'm going, got my ticket 2 weeks ago. Are you? And you really don't go the football to be entertained? What do you go for? Everyone wants to see exciting football and goals. Is it not?

Yes, me and my son are hence why I mentioned Crawley. And course people go to be entertained, but they will still go even when they aren't, hence why the cinema comparison is ridiculous. But people go to football for lots of reasons which I listed earlier on, not just entertainment but loyalty, family ties, hope, etc etc.

Fancy a pre-match drink then?

Of the 14 that played yesterday burge philipps martin fleck madison and JOB- will definitely be here in August, filling a squad full of loans and short-term contracts can lead to performances like yesterday, The revolving door of players since we were relegated 3 years ago has been rediculous, you reap what you sow.

Agree and disagree. I've got nothing against loans and short term signings if they are the RIGHT loans and short term signings. Coulibally -wrong loan signing, Samuel - right loan signing.

If TM stays next year then I would imagine he would have more influence.

Another perspective

Whilst not wishing in any way to defend yesterday's gutless performance, I actually think we were denied a goal early on which would have put us ahead.
I didn't think much about it at the time as we were well on top and I stupidly assumed we'd get plenty more.
On reflection I'm sure a shot which the keeper saved actually crossed the line.It was right in front of me in the North Stand and I'm pretty sure the whole ball crossed the line.
Sure somebody else has posted this already but it could have brought about a completely different result if it had counted.
Just about sums up our season.

I find that once you've grown up a bit the loyalty alone isn't enough

Interesting... so as we mature we become less loyal? I am the perpetual child.

YEah, we could've had two; once when the goalie looked like he stepped back into his net and again with a goal line clearance.
