Why not? You pay to be entertained. It's probably over priced for the same sort of time span. You talk to people about films and how you rate them. You moan if a film is shit but have your favourite actors and actress. Very similar and sometimes more atmosphere at showcase than the Ricoh

Nothing wrong with that crowd at all for an appalling football side who have been reduced to such lows by this despicable hedge fund. You couldn't squeeze in that crowd to most grounds in our pitiful league. Some will still make excuses for SISU and somehow point accusing fingers at absent fans and the size of the Ricoh but the fault and blame lies only with owners who took a punt on a football club to realise that they were out of their depth from the start. Their current policy of trying to hoodwink genuine supporters with false hopes about the future is shameful. Their ambitions lie no further than grabbing your Season ticket cash yet again and turning out a side full of kids and other clubs failures and misfits.

Of course people do, but it's more than just entertainment, isn't it? If not 99% of people would just support Man City, Utd and Chelsea. You need to throw in tradition, hope, family, loyalty into the mix too. You're as bad as SISU if you think it's just about entertainment as that correlates with "customers" rather than fans. It's more than that and it always has been.

I want to be entertained as much as anyone and sometimes I am, which stokes the hope and the desire to do better.

In the 1961/62 season we were a mid table 3rd division team and our average attendance was 10k.

In the 1963/64 season we were a top 3rd division team and our average attendance was 26k.

Crowds went up by 16k in just two seasons, due to success on the pitch and management with ambition.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that wouldn't happen again.

There is also absolutely nothing to suggest it would happen again. Without wanting to repeat myself, both football and Coventry have changed. We will just have to agree to disagree.

It's very easy to blame the Ricoh for our performances but it struck me earlier that is may be due instead to us not being very good at football. Everyone has a talent and rather than change the team in the Summer we should change the activity. Let's do some tests with the current team and find out what they excel at. Nouble, for example, might be very good at growing vegetables. If he laid down his beetroots in the touch area I'm sure Wasps wouldn't mind and it would provide a tasty, healthy treat for try scorers. Burge may be an excellent computer programmer and could hack the league table to keep us safe whilst we are busy doing other things. And Willis could be an extra on Coronation Street or something. In the Jimmy Hill days we were innovators. By moving away from football to something we are good at we could be changing the face of football in this country.

Edit: It would also be very good throughout the club. I'd love to see the youth team helping Nouble with his turnips.

Apart from your tongue in cheek first line I agree with all of that. Trouble is we're still being spun a line about upper quartile budgets, new stadiums, state aid, blah blah blah. Fisher and Waggot have to go, I'm sick of hearing their pathetic statements of intent. There is no cohesion from top to bottom of the club. Lot of truth in all that. I just cannot fathom why these players have no urgency, hardly a tackle goes in, they shy away from taking anyone on, there's no aggression or apparent anger at being 3- nil down at home.

Agree and disagree. I've got nothing against loans and short term signings if they are the RIGHT loans and short term signings. Coulibally -wrong loan signing, Samuel - right loan signing.

Whilst not wishing in any way to defend yesterday's gutless performance, I actually think we were denied a goal early on which would have put us ahead.
I didn't think much about it at the time as we were well on top and I stupidly assumed we'd get plenty more.
On reflection I'm sure a shot which the keeper saved actually crossed the line.It was right in front of me in the North Stand and I'm pretty sure the whole ball crossed the line.
Sure somebody else has posted this already but it could have brought about a completely different result if it had counted.
Just about sums up our season.
