So, if you go to watch a rugby match, you automatically must like one of the teams? weird
I've watched many a football game not involving CCFC, and enjoyed a lot of them. Most of them, I didn't "like" either team.
eg An old mate of mine is an Everton supporter, and i went with him to watch everton play Man U in a semi at Hillsborough years ago. Can't stand either team. Enjoyed the day out and the game though.
Dont think that we can say right or wrong in going to sixfields or elliot watching Wasps at the Ricoh . You do or you dont ,its up to you. The reason i didnt go to sixfields was to get city back in the Ricoh by contributing to the theory that if nobody went they would hot foot it back . Im going next saturday because i like rugby .That doesnt make anyone on here a better supporter than i am.

Elliott is a hypocrite because he jumped on the moral bandwagon of leaving your home city to garner favour and popularity. You only have to look at the video posted earlier in this thread to see what I mean.
Having said that - Pretty much since Elliott has been involved with City everything has gone to shit, so maybe we should be encouraging him to even more involved with Wasps so he can have the same effect.

How did it go again, having pops at people who took their kids to Sixfields? Something about dont take your kids and teach them about the moral battle? I like it!

Same here. Been to many a Forest game over the years with a mate who's a forest fan and he's also been with me to watch Cov games including 2 this season. Not forgetting Rugby fans have a completely different mentality to football fans. I have a mate who is a big Tigers fan but cant get a ticket so he watches Wasps if he wants to watch a premiership game.
If you're going to compare horses it normally pays to compare them to horses.
Hope he got his ticket in time !!

Oddly neither can I see a front page article on Wasps selling out. I have a copy of the CT for 1st May and front page is HR 10 years on and Another City School Set to Be An Acadamy.
the back page is Blast from the past Sky Blue old Boy in Red Devils Ranks and Mowbrays Message Keep Calm!
in fact several inner pages covering CCFC a full page on the Boro and nothing on Wasps
now about this Wasps bias Chiefdave?

I have mates who support other clubs. I sometimes go to games with them. But other than my mate who supports Wimbledon no club has been moved well away from where it should be. And he now supports AFC Wimbledon.
I go to the occasional rugger game. Not bothered who I go to see. It is all about the day out. But I wouldn't go to a Wasps game. I don't think I need to say why again. And on top of that they have fucked up my football clubs future by getting the Ricoh. I understand why CCC let them have it. It still doesn't make it right though.

No problem with him liking rugby, I think the point is he campaigned and was very vocal against clubs being moved from their community (I.e. Ccfc), but is happy to go and support/fund/watch a club who's been moved from their community (I.e. Wasps). Seems pretty hypocritical to me, especially from someone who's quite a public figure....

I know they removed him as life president as well so they were pretty pissed off.
Other than that he is a life time city fan and goes home and away and travels, sits and drinks with the city fans.

I get all the moralising about Wasps on here, I really do - but I think it’s misplaced. Opposing the CCFC move to Northampton whilst accepting (maybe even welcoming) the Wasps move to Coventry is not as laughable as some seem to think. In fact it’s a perfectly defensible position. My name isn’t Joe and I’ve never been to a Rugby match.
Wimbledon represented Wimbledon and should never have moved to MK.
Coventry City represent Coventry and must play in Coventry.
Wasps were shifted out to High Wycombe in 2002, and their fan base flipped overwhelmingly to Buckinghamshire (which is not London btw). Their supporters hardly raised a protest against the Ricoh move – maybe because they were already supporting a franchise? So why do we have to endlessly fight a pointless battle on their behalf? If the new followers of Wasps in the Midlands are to be despised and ridiculed, why so much wailing and gnashing of teeth about the Wycombe people? Many of them seem very happy, and our local rugby club don’t appear to be that concerned either.
I can’t see how CCC were meant to turn down the benefits that Wasps offered to the city, given that the only alternative was to clear all the contracts and write off the loan for Tim Fisher. If you’d been a City Councillor, which way would you have voted - honestly? It was unanimous.
I don’t agree with sports teams moving around, and I totally get the arguments against franchising. If (say) Bedford RFC had tried to move to Coventry I’d have been up in arms. But in the case of Wasps it’s 13 years too late. Just my opinion, but no doubt I’m a hypocrite.

I'll write to the queen and ask whether we can scrap Remembrance Sunday. I'll just quote you "it's happened (the world wars). Get over it"
The problem is, it has happened and the club may never get over it now we have a glass ceiling firmly placed above us by the prospect of never going to be able to own the Ricoh. But then again who cares?!
