Would you like to see the club leave the Ricoh as long as there was a viable option?

Yes

Will sisu be committed to such a project? Probably not

So you believe that spending the proposed £30 million on a 15,000 seater stadium well away from Coventry, will put us on a stronger financial footing?

What crowds do you require for this viability?

How are Scunthorpe and York funding stadia? Are they costing £30 million?

So now you would be happy with a small basic ground that clubs like them would build? Of course not, but sounds good in a one sided argument though.

Where we are apparently going, we will be even worse off than when we were at HR IMO, with a much smaller stadium, miles away from Cov

If we move miles away from Coventry a small ground like York or Scunthorpe would build would suffice. So yes it would become much cheaper. But still wouldn't be viable.

Exactly.

But it's all about pie money don't you know.

Unfortunately CCC don't see it your way and will never ever grant planning permission (even if land was available, at the right price which it is not!) so
YES, YES, YES , YES, YES! Sooner the better! PUSB

So where is there land available at the "right price" and what is the "right price"?

Can you stop shouting sex noises at me please.

Are they telling the truth now? I can't keep up is Nick Eastwood a liar or not?

Richardson said it. Can't see anything he's said that's a lie. Love it how you are desperate to defend the franchise though.

Plus full upkeep of your own stadium. Then you have repayments for the loan to build it.

You will be amongst the first to say that the repayments that Wasps will have to make are similar to what we would have to lend. So That would be another 2m plus a year.

Whilst down where we are it isn't viable. That is why no land has been identified yet. I want us to own our own stadium. But SISU messed up our only chance of doing it in an affordable way. So we will have to wait until our income improves vastly before considering it seriously.

Given that we're likely never reach the PL again, any increase in income from being promoted to the championship will be used up and insufficient to treat water on that league, we're destined to be wasps bitch for the next 50 years.

He says that he alone owns Wasps. So do you agree with him now? Or does he own the hedge fund you like to tell us about and all the money in it?

they will probably offer to sell us half of ACL in 7 years time for £35m as they'll need the cash to pay back all those sad saps who invested.

Or the difference between what they have to pay back the bonds and what they need to pay back the bonds. Although in all likelihood they'll just issue more bonds to pay off the previous bonds.

If it's outside the City boundary it is not Coventry so it's a resounding NO from me.

Should a new stadium ever get built it must be big enough for Premiership football or that's also a no go.

But 6,000 per week in the countryside will draw in what revenues exactly?

And the odd wedding?

That's interesting. I've never actually seen a statement from him saying he individually is the sole owner.

Can you provide a link and then I will respond.

You would respond and tell me I am wrong even if I agree with you.

Small clubs when run well get promoted. TM could be the one to do it with us. Having a big budget doesn't mean you will finish near the top. Having a small budget doesn't mean you will finish near the bottom either. We are in a poor division. We should be able to get out of it easily enough. Then just one good season away.

We do still have SISU with us though :(

No, they have the casino, hotel etc to draw revenue from....

Will Stade de SISU have a casino, hotel etc?

I guess not.....

Still, full steam ahead.....

Well it was Richardson not Eastwood but ignoring that I would say all the evidence suggests on this matter they are telling the truth. If they only wanted a 50% stake they could have left 50% with Higgs or let SISU buy the Higgs 50% unchallenged. They did neither of those and then said the move only worked with 100% ownership and there was no chance of the ownership structure being changed. Since then they have taken a huge amount of debt on secured against their ownership of ACL, would seem to add huge complications to any potential sale of a stake.

But I thought SISU didn't want the Ricoh?

sorry astute, not sure what happened to my post, but it was meant to read ".....any increase in income from being promoted to the championship will be used up and insufficient to treat water in that league......"

i completely agree it doesn't take much to get out of this league, but then what? Even OSB stated this in another thread yesterday.

oh well. seems like just another divisive subject for a fanbase and club that desperately needs unity.

We enjoy a rare bit of success with a promotion followed by back to plan A. I'd take a promotion to only come back down to league one. It would certainly beat no promotion and mulling around in league one. Besides with a decent manager at the helm we might find that we're good enough to survive in the championship.

I don't get why people are so down on us going up even if it was just for one season? It's like TF said that the model doesn't work in the championship and everyone has gone we don't want the enjoyment of a successful season then. Strange behavior.

Under normal circumstances yes.

This whole debacle has caused nothing but factions.

It's not a simple case of: "We need x amount of money"

It's the parties involved all trying to outsmart eachother, but all parties are about as bright as a blackboard.

no one has said they don't want promotion. the only strange behaviour is yours by making conclusions.

a good manager might stave of relegation, but there's only so long you can avoid it when you have one of the lowest 3-4 turnovers in the league.

and the original reply prior to Astutes post was that building a new stadium isnt viable in this league, we need to be promoted. I was pointing out that championship turnover isnt enough to allow us to tread water in that league so there will be no money to build a stadium then, and that we're likely to never get back to the PL, we are destined to be at the ricoh as Wasps bitch for the next 40-50 years.

To be fair, it's a valid point, if we had of fluked promotion last season, then according to TF, we'd be screwed.
