Im pleased there is good optimism for next season but bloody hell i think we are expecting too much from Mowbray with probably about 10 pros on our books, i still dont think we've hit rock bottom yet. I'm not being negative but there are still many holes and cracks at the club.

And we will be bringing more players in. That is for certain.

And do you really think that all clubs in this division are perfectly set up for next season already? A lot of managers would like to be in the same position as TM is. He needs to bring in half a squad and seems to have full say on how much of his budget goes to what player. And he has also brought in his own people to help him.

Also I can't believe he hasn't already got several players in mind.

I think I heard Mowbray say at the end of last season " let this be the lowest point the club goes to " or words to that effect. I think we will have a better season than last and with a bit of luck be in the top six by the seasons end. Ifvwe don't make it next season I think we will the next, that is reason for optimism in my book

It's lucky the season doesn't start tomorrow then. Maybe we should see who he brings in before predictions, either way.

There are plenty of clubs in precarious positions financially in this league. The fact we have kept a manager with a wealth of experience and he has set out his stall already (clearing a lot of deadwood already) tells me that we are in better hands.

I would expect a manager with his contacts will see us acquiring some good quality players and some good loan players from Championship level and above next season.

Anyone would think the season kicks off next week. This season's not even finished (PL, FA Cup, Play Off Finals), and We've got 3 bloody months before the season kicks off. Why are people panicking and doing team formations now? Bizarre.

Most other clubs are set up off the field which will enable them to react quicker than us,, that is the problem and whole point of why we have struggled to compete over the last decade and more.. This is not just about getting players in,, its what are they coming in too, what direction are the club taking,, its not about budgets or money stream TM knows without a product fans and money will stay away.. First you get the management structure sorted, then you get training facility up to standard (creating a home) and lastly you create a game day schedule, hotels, meals, even clothing etc.. Then you bring in the players you have in mind, tell them we are forward thinking, give them an understanding of what we are all about, set targets and aims to reach, show them direction..

This is where fans who want to see the team do well get blinded by what needs to happen for a product and ethic on the field to occur.. TM has to get Sisu understanding where to put the money, not how much, he needed to let them know,, what players are looking for before signing and who should be signing them. And most of all, once you get that, what should surround the players to maximize the potential the club has...Without direction these players wonder from one game to the next hoping for form or the ball to bounce their way..

Too long this club has drifted, too long the fans have put up with a sub standard product, TM is the only manager other than Robins who had any idea and strength to deal with running the club.. So its no surprise these two have got decent records at the club,, they understand it and will try to implement it,, i only hope TM gets more support than MR otherwise the end will be the same....

Just because TM has signed does not mean much, hes still got the constraints from the owners, just approval to move some the money around as he wishes, its still a huge task in getting the right players through the door and then building a team that can challenge in its first season together.

We are not the only club to have these problems. And I would guess that we will be better off than most. And on top of that it is our manager that will choose where the money is spent and not previous seasons when it was decided by someone not football savvy. This will make a big difference.

Make a big difference but I just think too many are jumping the gun here we need a team to put together, even TM has said between the lines not to expect the earth straight away.

Let's at least wait until we lose our first game before we get all negative.

Its called realism, too many with their OTT aspirations and wanting the earth straight away on here, need to be realistic, it will be the recruiting that makes us challenge or not.

The way I see it, signing TM is a major step forward. Someone who really knows what he's doing, and has clearly signed on his terms only! This is the best thing to happen to this club in a very long time. That's being realistic about where we are today...at the start of a different journey, that holds more hope than we've had in ages!

SP and Waggott wasted a lot of the budget on players that were sub standard and in some cases never even played, Mogga recognised that straight away and he wrestled that away from Waggott. He will get us value for money and will not sign players in a fit of Panic that SP & Waggott did.

And we have recruited TM. A very good start. We have seen what he can do with a poor squad. And most clubs that we play next season will have an average squad at best. I am so sure that we will be in the top 6 at least that I am happy to have a wager with anyone who thinks he will fail. The odds are we will have the best and most experienced manager. And after such a poor time with SP we ended up only about 4 wins away from the top 6.

It will be great to see what it is like to finish in the top 6.

It's not really realism to sound the alarm about a lack of contracted players in late May when we've just released a number of players. If it was the last week in July it'd certainly be realistic to panic, but not now.

It's all about timing as well, we need to sign early and gel them together through pre season. It's no good bringing half of them in at the end of August when you've already played 4 matches. I think our previous managers were only offered a budget after all of their primary targets had signed elsewhere.

Experienced Manager yes, but players win you football matches the ability of the player recruited will dictate how we end up doing this season.

This league is like a secondary school and most clubs managers are that school level. We on the other hand, have a professor who I believe has the capability to raise the players to university standard. As long as the players perform we will do well

I agree people are getting ahead of themselves im the same i have got it in my head they we are going to win the quadruple but really we have had some proven managers in who have all failed miserably! Coleman, Dowie, Boothroyd they have all proven they can do a job and all failed. So trying not to get too excited about Mowbray

FFS the season hasnt even closed fully, give the guy a chance!!

Err I am ... yet it is not a manager that wins titles, it helps but ultimately do they kick the ball around for 90 minutes? Talent will dictate how we do, plain and simple, and that talent is required before we even get ahead of ourselves as right now we have no squad for those so far in TM lala land.

Yes excellent and exciting appointment cannot disagree in the slightest, but people getting way ahead of themselves on here the past couple of days.

Just been let down too many times over the years so I await with excitement of how we bring in before predicting how we do.

OK.

So managers lose titles but don't win them? I would have loved to have seen Mowbray with our squad from 2 seasons ago. Wilson and Clarke knocking the goals in with organisation for the rest of the team. But we need to see who he brings in. You say about the players he hasn't brought in yet. They are still under contract and the last season hasn't finished yet for top 6 sides. Most clubs have not released players they are not keeping yet. These are the players TM will be after other than any loans. And loan players can be very important at our level.

Tell the Chelsea and Manure supporters that it isn't managers that win titles. Or if you get relegated or not in the case of SP. I think we would have gone if we would have kept him. But TM got us up to 17th. And not only is TM a very good manager for this level but he has contacts that most managers at our level would love to have.

simple facts weve had better players in the previous 2 seasons and even without deduction been nowhere near promotion. We simply wont have the real top lads or anything close to what weve had before, i think next season is another struggle. hoping maddison really is as good as his youtube clips!

1, Better players than who? TM hasn't signed anyone yet.

2, We had SP. He was clueless. Or do you disagree?
