Bradford have 12k season tickets and Pompey and Sheffield United have the same if not more don't they?

Not surprised by Sheff and Pompey but see us as bigger than Bradford so admittedly shocked by that

Sorry? remind me that's when people were saying that Higgs had to get their money back and what acl on its initial lease was worth £30 million plus?

That the place was a gold mine and that acl didn't need the club anyway?

Ok smartarse let's say we wake up tomorrow and Sisu say that they've decided enough is enough and walk away. You telling me someone is in the wings to take it on at its current budgeted level - who?

A few called it a white elephant.

SISU won't walk away. It would be very good news if they did. The only chance of them leaving at the moment is someone putting in an offer of many more millions than our club is worth. We were not worth a lot when they took over. And we are worth less now.

Remind me, who else expressed an interestadt time round when indeed we were in a potentially stronger position?

Potentially stronger position?

SISU took us on before we could go into administration. But you know nobody was waiting for administration first? That would be similar to someone taking us over if SISU left but making a last minute deal with them.

Well we do know someone was potentially waiting or at least interested and was certainly affluent enough.

However, once the financial structure was presented they ran to the hills - "good luck to whoever takes that on". At that point the club was in the championship and at least had the potential for ground ownership.

Now it isn't and its hampered by tighter FFP restrictions.

Someone on here said "anyone would buy it" - why? No assets no history of success a history of losses and a substantial investment (aka gift) to give a real chance of promotion. What is the benefit to the investor?

Why don't they just say it's up for sale and see what happens?
£2M should sort it without the debt !!

What have you based the £2m on? What people are suggesting is not that SISU sell the business but that they sell the business and wipe out all the debt to SISU / AVRO and anyone else we owe money to. That seems an unlikely to me.

We aren't an attractive proposition. We have crowds in freefall, no chance of stadium ownership and decades without any sniff of success. You would have to be a Cov fan to want to take over and if there was a fan in a position to afford that I suspect they would have made their move by now.

If, as has been suggested on this thread, the club is breaking even what incentive is there for them to leave without any ROI? They can just stay indefinitely hoping for a miracle promotion to the prem, Wasps to fold or some other similarly unlikely scenario.

Almost anyone could take it on, SISU are not subsidising it now on it's current expenditure/income ratio. As long as they fucked off and took their debt interest payment expectations with them then a small time business consortium could take the reins. We wouldn't have any bigger budget but we wouldn't have any less either !

I suspect for the debt to be wiped we would be looking at another round of administration. I can't see SISU just walking away from the debt. And of course prior to any administration there is a good chance SISU would sell off anything they could. We don't have much left but if they cashed in on anyone they could sell, sold Ryton etc we'd be an even less attractive proposition for a takeover.

Lets face it, if you want to own a football club there's 91 better options than trying to buy us.

Nobody wanted to take us over until admin. Otherwise they wouldn't have left it as late as SISU did.

I don't see FFP rules as hampering anyone taking us over. What that means is supporters will not have unrealistic expectations of new owners wasting money like SISU did when they took over. It also means not taking a club over that has multiple times of paying out in wages of what the income is. That is unless there is another Portsmouth dropping down the divisions with players still on Prem wages.

It is no secret that we have lost the rights to the Ricoh. We all know that. But there are plenty of clubs that don't own their own ground. And owning your own stadium can be costly as well as making a few quid. How much did we put into HR over the years? What is needed is a low cost long term rental agreement. A new stadium is for the future when our club has turned its fortunes around.

Yes they did Robinson approached that Greek billionaire at the last minute

Someone getting approached isn't the same as someone showing interest though.

No from memory he expressed an interest. It was only when Robinson started to talk detail and show him the accounts he ran a mile.

That's the problem.
Say the clubs assets are worth £2M. That is all people will pay.
If it goes into administration and is sold that is the best they could get.
It appears that the only way they can get their money back is to 'use' the club to leverage further value and sell the package.
They tried it with the Ricoh but made the error of trying to drive the price too low, based on the assumption they were the only customer.
So now they need to get some cheap greenbelt and convert it into a retail/hotel/stadium park. It ain't gonna happen.
If they want their money back we are stuck with them.

He did. Alki David was his name, the club was a basket case.

And this is why SISU wanted to stadium on the cheap, sell the lot for a tidy profit. Sadly the council didnt play ball on that front and they didnt see the sly insect attack either. We are not an attractive proposition however getting promoted might help that situation if we are a stable championship club. For me there is no point switching from one company who will contribute the minimal towards the club to another who will do the same.

People talk about local people owning the club, debts aside if they cannot come up with enough sustainable capital to move the club in the right direction then we are no better off. We will just end up hating them instead of SISU (or will continue to blame SISU regardless...)

Which is why no one would want it. no one with suffucient resource to make any improvement anyway.

Well... yes and no. Somewhere there are always people who want to boost their egos/put something back into a community etc, but they don't come around often.

The major problem is that, as long as it's a basket case, it tends to only attract those who play fast and loose, and and are prepared to take high risks in the hope of high returns.

The major problem isn't that nobody would want us, it's more the motivations of anybody who *would* want us would have to be questioned very carefully indeed as chances are they tend towards dubious.

But... they might not!

Anyway, back on topic, £78 for six games seems a no-brainer really. Even the ST price is not bad, and for the loss of hassleof having to go in to get an actual ticket in advance, that might still win out...so at least I'd be first on the priority list for a playoff final ticket:pointlaugh:

Monetarily we probably wouldn't be any better off no, but trust wise, bad blood wise and transparency issues would be improved 100% over the last few years.

We have gone for a 6-game package, downgrading from a season ticket. We went to the ticket office on Friday to collect them and it seems a decent scheme. You can just turn up on the day and exchange your voucher for a random ticket. Or you can do it beforehand and specify any unsold seat as long as the game is currently on sale. Suits us fine, £13 a game for wife and £10 for me. The only slight problem was that they didn't have any of the adult vouchers printed so are going to post them. Got my concession ones though.

I am glad they are ditching that place at Gallagher Retail Park. What a depressing dump!

Give it to wasps. They could put a management team in.
Only issue would be allocation of profits between the 2 clubs but I'm sure it could be managed.

Not gonna happen, and the majority of profits will be diverted into paying the interest on the shares.

Give it to wasps, hahahahahahahahahaha you are proper mental.

I want the club to have a decent future, so SISU gone, and it in the hands of not another owner who seems to be playing financial russian roulette.

Me and my mate renewed st's over the weekend, were both unsure whether to renew or not but for the price you cant argue can you. Really pleased they are moving the club shop up by the ground too, pain in the ass getting up that gallagher. Woman I spoke to said the match packages are selling really well, seem popular with the fans.

I've been here before. I'm sure they could generate savings immediately. Loose all CCFC admin staff for starters, amalgamate the shop and ticketing system, joint advertising incomes etc
CCFC would need to be an investment initially but the advantages in all above would be realised in the PL.

Wasps initial stance has been a big no, but is that really to drive the price down?

If they are then we should all be very concerned.

well they said they aren't, I assume people don't want new owners who also bullshit the fans?

We have been there before as well Nick....
Just need a new start with new owners and hey surely they couldn't act any less professionally then the present Regime?

How do you amalgamate the shop? The one at the Ricoh wasn't big enough for us, let alone 2 team. Nice that you would like wasps to get rid of all the ccfc staff some of which have worked for the club for years. Also how much do ticket master take to do wasps ticketing? Is it more cost effective than ours? Joint advertising incomes? How's is that going to generate any more more, they aren't going to pay more to sponsor us and wasps jointly than they would to sponsor us both separately. It could take £50-60m to get us anywhere near the PL and that's not guaranteed. What happens if they get us there, start siphoning the profits for themselves? All this why they are paying Richardson his £10m back, have to pay interest back on the shares, then pay the shares back in 7 years, whilst trying to invest in wasps to make them the best team in europe.

They won't touch us with a barge pole. It's far too high risk, too much money needed for an outside chance of a little return. Richardson doesn't have enough money.
