Season Ticket Sales (4 Viewers)

At £199 with no DD do people really think the club would have sold more than 8,000 tickets? I think not.

To get 18,000 STH at CCFC you would have to sell ST for a fiver!

Yep - dongle is no economist.

How many more do you think we will sell? But of a gamble is it especially as the early bird was quite a cheap price.

It is all well and good throwing tickets around like they are sweets but aren't they the club's main earner?

It's not about been the main earner. It's about getting the right price so you don't lose any money but you increase attendances. So the atmosphere increases and potentially it helps the team.

How much cheaper are the season tickets this year?

But if we went down to £199 instead of £249, how many more would we have sold?

I don't think we would have sold that many more. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a full ground of Season Tickets every week but don't think the £50 would have made much difference.

jeez...every thread i look at on here i see Grendal having a go at some one!

No name another thread that's currently live where that is the case.

The argument Don presents is a joke and will lose the club much needed revenue.

Bradford have increased Season ticket sales by nearly 50% of last seasons sales.
Would you think a 50% increase in sales for us on this years total could cover the reduction in costs?

Not answering the question. How much have we reduced the price this season?

We're not Bradford mate, the people of Bradford actually want to support there football team. We could have matched Bradfords price and we'd have still struggled to break 7k, people just don't want to support the team.

This is the deal that led to an extra 6000 season ticket Sales for Bradford.......

Adults, senior citizens and student tickets are priced at only £149.00
Junior tickets can be bought for just £99.00, while under 11s are free after a £5.00 admin charge.
Twenty-five year season ticket holders will be asked to pay £110.00 – a price which will include a free suite upgrade.
FlexiCard tickets can once again be purchased for only £50.00.

The difference CCFC is the owners of Bradford are supporters of their football club.

Didn't they have cup runs and a promotion also?

How much did they make from matchdays other than tickets to make up for the ticket price drop?

Spit it out, because I can't be bothered to work it out :(

He won't answer because he knows we have reduced by around 20% - and we have sold less than 10% more tickets.

Bradford have a strategy. Buy a season ticket before the cut off or else. Massively inflated season ticket price especially for concessions, one of the most expensive prices on match days and in addition withdrawal of any payment plan available and flexi cards.

There is no way on this planet we would get away with that here - we may if we had a small ground and could threaten exclusion but we can't.

We would have to sell 27,000 season tickets if we assume 30% are under 16 to break even. That also excludes revenue made on match day sales at higher prices. We wouldn't sell 20,000 in the premier league.

It's an irrelevant question unless of course we were selling our season tickets for £149.00 for an adult
£99.00 for juniors
And free for under 11's

Ie back to the original point stick to the deal you are comparing to......
But thanks for the lesson in ecomics, I am sure you won't be offended if I tell you that I will go to Yanis Varoufakis next time.

How do you explain their 50% increase in season ticket sales?
It was the deal they were offering

Do you think we would sell the same amount of season tickets if we had the same pricing?

Is it nothing to do with their cup runs or promotion?

I normally read grendels posts and imagine a grumpy old man disillusioned by an unhappy life, taking it out on ccfc forum members but on this he's right.

£50 reduction based on the guaranteed 5000 sales = £250,000 loss
Which means we would have to sell over another 1000 ST. I don't think £50 off would draw an additonal 1250 needed. The problem isn't money for most people, it's committing 23 Saturdays/evenings with little promise of return based on years of failure.

If we get some success we can start talking strategys but for now we are left with the core of us that would find the money somehow irrelevant to small change in price

You have absolutely no evidence to suggest we couldn't sell 20,000 season tickets upon a return to the premiership. We are not languishing in the bottom half of that league year after year as we did at Highfield Road during which time support dwindled. We are miles away right now and so a return in itself would be a monumental success unseen since the 1960's. It's all about expectation and momentum . If you think that under no circumstances, not even back to back promotion (which is very unlikely) , we couldn't sell 20,000 tickets , then you're an even bigger tosser than I thought.

Did we ever sell 20k season tickets in the Prem when we were classed as big time and playing the big boys every week with the superstars playing?

On the other hand, do you have any evidence we would sell 20,000 if we got promoted to the Premier League?

Can you provide evidence for this.

Were 20k available? Do clubs have to keep so many aside for matchday tickets?

Now, where have them goalposts gone?

Wait, I was just replying to you saying did we have 20k available when I said did we sell 20k? So if 20k weren't available, did we sell out what was available? Perfectly reasonable question in reply to your point isn't it?

If promoted to the land of milk and honey it wouldn't matter how many tickets we would sell it's nothing compared to the tv money etc just pin money.

Yes it was, but then you added bits to your original post. You're asking two questions though, on things no one could know for sure. 2 different sized stadiums. More corporate packages available now in comparison to the "hey day" you are referring to. Surely you'd agree, many people will be clambering to get ST if we ever got there again? A generation has never seen CCFC as a prem team.

To answer your question, I don't know. The capacity was 23,489. A quick google search shows no data for ST sales. Any idea on % of capacity is ST? Or would it vary by club?

Do you recall how many times we finished in the top 6 in the premier since the 1960's? That's why we never got massive support. The momentum was never there.
