On the few times I went by coach instead of in somebody's car, I was always amazed how many Man U, Liverpool ,Celtic and the like coaches that used to leave Pool Meadow on Saturday mornings.

Remembering the pleasure of going along the motorway, with scarf flying out the window, tooting horn when other City scarves and flags seen and decrying any other teams colours. Many a time the scarf had to be pulled in before getting to the ground; small price to pay to be allowed to go again next time. That Hillman Minx of my dads sure did some miles. HAPPY DAYS.

How do you know they never bothered again? Ten of us went that night and at some point in the season all of us bar one went back at least once in the season. My guess is that most of any clubs fans are casual and make the effort for big games otherwise the only tickets that get sold would be season tickets.

The question I posed was why did so many people who went to Gillingham not bother again for the next game. It's pretty obvious that they didn't as the Gillingham game had 26,811 home fans in attendance. The next game had less than 11K home fans so that's over 15K who couldn't be bothered with the next game.

People go on about being negative to our fans and club, let's be positive and encourage as many people to go to as many games as possible this season then? Or is it just not allowed to be negative who will only go to a game if there is success?

I'd much rather be positive to the likes of CJ who goes to every game home and away compared to somebody like the woman who phoned into the radio moaning about SISU and hadn't been to a game since the 70's.

Why is it only work and travel that you seem to think is a factor? People do have lives you know? I like to spend time with my wife and kids at the weekend doing things. I spectate at other sports apart from football etc. etc. etc.

Fair play to anyone who commits to a season ticket but most of us won't as we have a football/life balance to sort out. For some that means they only go the extra mile for the big games, for me that means pretty much every midweek game regardless of the competition as the kids will be in bed and especially on a Tuesday as the wife will be watching Holby City which I can't stand. I'll then also sacrafice time with the wife and kids to do some saturdays too. My youngest is showing an interest so hopefully I'll be able to sacrafice a little less on Saturdays as I'll be gaining time alone with her and attend more saturdays.

I don't know. Perhaps all these people moaning about our fans have miserable home lives so the football is a welcolme relief and think the rest of us should have too. One thing for sure, they're certainly miserable.

If we want those numbers to turn up week in week out, or even just more often than they do currently, we need to know why they don't attend. I would have thought after the Gillingham game, where people were complaining they couldn't get tickets, with a cracking atmosphere and a win it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect at least 15K for the next match. Its not like it was even a gradual decline to under 10K.

I'm sure you're not alone in being disapointed that we didn't get 15K the next game, myself included. But to assume that 15K disapeared forever as some on here are (again, not pointing that finger at you) is stupid. I bet the majority did.

3rd cheapest tickets, a goods manager for this level and developing imfrastructure make the ownership issue somewhat tiresome.

If people don't go find but then don't bleat about no squad investment as those people are contributing to that.

My point is that people don't want to go to games, not that they can't because they haven't seen their kids all week while they have been working etc. If their kids were to go away for the day with their friends or family without them, would they then go to the game?

The way I see it is that CCFC have found a level their support deserves. The fans turn to in league 1 numbers they remain a league 1 team.

In the Premier League the fans didn't (and probably couldn't due to capacity) turn up in sufficient numbers to sustain a team spending millions on transfers and wages, that deficit has never been addressed.

Fans going out their way is the very definition of a fan. Non of us, including you, have to go. We go because we choose to. You just think you have the right to dictate how often you have to go before you're a fan. Guess what? No one put you in charge.

How many years has it took them to do this? Its great that they have but Rome wasn't built in a day and a rebuilding execise is always more time consuming than the demolition. So try not to be too disapointed if it doesn't happen overnight.

Everything is a bit of give and take isn't it?

The JSB deal is excellent. Signed the boy last season. Cost £20 membership with free admission for each game. He isn't so keen to go next season as of yet - he wants something to cheer I suspect - all being well this will happen and he will want to go up to a game or two.

Nearly a year on and still no one has yet come up with a viable reason (lots of excuses though) why we dropped 15k fans in one game. Look how consistently empty Villa Park is these days. Their superfans probably think their the only club in the country with "fickle fans" too.
