Newcastle fans are the most knowledgable around. Most have said Bigi needs nurturing, something that never happened here at Coventry. Thorne nearly killed the lad and almost wrecked him mentally. Pardew is an idiot according to Newcastle fans, and who should know better than them?

The fact they hounded Pardew out shows just how little they know.

I'm sure the CT are working on their "Five Things We Learnt About Bigi" article already...

Nah they're tied up with their latest exclusive which is a Mr & Mrs style interview starring James Haskell and Anne Lucas

And apparently we're the only club in the world who doesn't need any income. :)

Either that or they're just fickle like all football fans? No wait, we're the only football club in the world with fickle fans. You're right, they're just overrated :)

Another gem from the gift that keeps on giving

More than a few people got in his ear about the move,, one very prominant person at the club who left and was doing work up in Newcastle pushed for the deal to be done.. Also lots difference's of opinions on who the lad was found by thus individuals fighting over a cut on any deal!!!

As for the player i think he showed lots of promise and was being watched by more than a few clubs at the time of his transfer. He showed up very well at the start of his for Newcastle in higher level games than any of us had seen him play.. So my opinion is at 20 with all his experience of being at a big club, being in and around that everyday a move to to l1 would be a good one.. Would that be to us,, i think a poster has already said it,, he could be the one making calls wanting to come back... From what i hear, from ex teachers, church goes and friends he is very quiet, church going lad who loved football and family ,, not really into the trappings of what prem football can bring you..

Someone will take the option on him,, young and gifted no matter what some on here think just needs pushing in the right direction and coached with the future in mind.. Tm would be good for him,, the club would be great for him,, but would he be good for the club?? that is a big question.. Me i would take him if we had more flexibility in the budget, low risk, high reward signing...

Don't you mean that when we get promoted it will be a waste of time signing new players as just about every club has a billionaire throwing money at their club so we will get relegated straight away as we don't have a billionaire. :)

Maddison and Thomas should take a look at Bigi and Davenport before him and think very carefully.

Or they should take Dan Crowley and Callum Wilson as examples... FFS anyone can pick names,, none are even worth considering each and every transfer is different.. Sterling done great for himself,, Powell at Utd not so well who is the better player?, or who picked the right time and the right club.. Luck plays a massive part in any career,, some workout some don't.. Maddison or Thomas would not take any other transfers into consideration apart from their own..

We don't need Gael anymore. We have 30 midfielders at the club.

I think the 70% in the CET poll who want him back may be in for a disappointment as his wages seem to account for about half our budget

It's madness. If Madders or any of the others were offered similar they would be mad not to take it even if they got no game time. Truly shocking

This is what is wrong with football in the present day. A kid will sign for a premier league club and not have to work again once their contract is up. No real desire to achieve anything as they've already made their money.

Bloody hell. How many first team games has he actually played for Newcastle? Apart from presumably a token Capital One Cup appearance here and there.

To be fair, I think in his first season, he was playing in their Europa League games (if I remember correctly). Your point stands though...£18k a week to turn up to training daily and play the odd game.

You can see why youngsters playing for EPL times don't generally make it through the ranks.

Just to add to this. I just read in the paper that Ben Gladwin, who moved from Swindon to QPR in the summer (he'd only played 1 season for Swindon after signing from non-league), is now on £20k pw!! £1m per year for a championship footballer. Crazy.
