Burgle-gate Central in Cov tonight then. That's over a third of the population. That's a helluva gate.
Think a fair few of that lot coming here tonight are probably not going to get in.

Filling up nicely in ground. Lot of buzz about the place
8 o clock kick off!! Lots outside . extra block open 15k??
Attendance: 11511 (235 away)
No way was that 11500!
as in more or less?
More I'd say!

What were the queues at the cash turnstiles like? There were 4 open tonight, would surely make sense just to open a couple more cash turnstiles. Unless you're collecting tickets I see no reason to queue at the ticket office anyway. Also how many were working at the ticket window, surely its all just about man power? Can't see how they can do it faster without just simply getting more people. It certainly felt more than 11'500.
Clearly the club need to make some improvements with getting hold of a ticket and as fans we need to start buying them sooner. There must have been a good few hundred queuing at the windows tonight. I suppose you could argue that tonight's game come to soon of the back of the Milwall game but there's plenty of time now to the Southend game for club and fans to get sorted.
I wonder how many walk-ups did a U-turn when they saw the queue at the windows tonight? Wouldn't be surprised if there was a few.
Got in at 7.15 with about 3 people in front of me at the cash turnstile.
The queue for the ticket collection point was 50+ deep and heading around the outside of the exhibition hall/casino
Embarrassing kick off was delayed as the club couldn't organise themselves for a 1/3 full stadium.
More. They pretty much opened the doors in the end by all accounts. Ran out of tickets on the gate. It wasn't massively more, but definitely more city fans that were at the Wigan game. They had to open two extra blocks for a start.

tbh I'm not bothered about queues at the turnstiles, its worth it as it is so much better with north stand closed. Eventually people will get used to it and get there tickets in advance/early, people will be used to turning up 2 minutes before kick off, buying a ticket and walking straight through. It will be a lesson learned for many tonight, as the season goes on the lazy people will learn and plan better which then lifts the load of the ticket office and allows them to operate more efficiently.
Just to clarify, the ticket sales queue was tiny last night. It was the collection queue that snaked round the ground, full of people collecting their tickets that they'd bought since the Millwall game. And the number of people collecting pre-bought tickets is a figure that the club would have known (and if they don't know how many tickets 1 window can distribute in say 15 mins, they bloody should do)...
As it approached 19:45 (and fair play for delaying KO), word spread that both windows were now for collections.
Then a man ran out from the ticket office with a handful of tickets and shouted 'if your surname starts with C, collect your ticket from me'.
Then a woman said if you've got proof of purchase, just show it to the turnstiles and they'll let you in. Cue everyone leaving the queue and heading to the turnstiles. Quite why they couldn't do this anyway, I'm not sure. Every paperless gig I go to handles it well enough.
But yer, shame the lazy people that followed the club's advice to buy online...

agreed but too many people still supping pints at 7.30pm and then expecting to pay at the gate and breeze in.
Bit of common sense would help.
