Have we (or SISU) missed out financially with Bournemouth going up? (5 Viewers)

I refer to your comment we shouldn't have sold him. If he does succeed then of course the decision to sell was the correct one.

So we should sell the good ones and keep the shite?

God it its like pulling teeth

So explain why it will be the right decision to have sold him if he does well in the Prem? He is just the player that TM needs. He is just the player that CCFC needs. He was under contract with us. But SISU sold him and our football club or squad didn't benefit in any way.

Ask Barnsley what they want to happen before the end of August

For me it was the wrong decision to let Wilson go; another example of owners wanting a quick buck rather than long term success. Not just us but ask Crewe over the years. However now he is gone the only way we can benefit is for him to prosper further. So yes I hope he scores loads, hope manure pay silly money for him and hope the bit we make from that is spent wisely and helps towards a promotion.

Purely from a selfish point of view I hope he nets 15+ goals but Bournemouth get relegated. He will then be sold to a premier league club for 12-15 million hopefully

I think that you are overestimating his ability. He will be lucky to score 10 goals this season. I agree with the comments elsewhere, he is too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premiership

at which point this afternoon did you think bollocks wilson has scored 3? only needs another 12 to hit my 15 prediction and english players scoring hatricks in the "best league in the world" tend to get call ups to the england team

Wether he was sold to soon or not the deal seems to have been negotiated very badly or by a desperate man, obviously we don't know the ins and outs of the deal but there should have been extra payments for prem goals etc to push the price up towards what Asombalonga went for.

The removal of the buffoon Waggott must happen before he sells Maddison for fifty quid and three shitty reserve team players like those clowns he got us last time.

Many english players scored hat tricks in the League and never achieved international recognition

Barnsley may make £6 million in a weeks time

I was was another who is not sure on him, but at no point did I think bollocks I thought good on the lad he seems a good bloke who has made good of his ability but still don't think he will play for England.

compared to the Asombalonga deal it looks bad but compare it to the Nakhi Wells deal 6 months earlier (1.4 million) and it looks a good deal at the time we sold him it was a good price he had only had 1 good season and nobody knew if it was a one off or the start of something magical.

Maybe but two more hat tricks from Wilson and that shitty deal becomes a great bit of business

Shitty deal? You called it a good deal for CCFC from the day it happened but would never say why.

I was quoting another poster two posts above!! I have given you many reasons why it was a good deal as have others. Keep ignoring them but sorry that doesn't make it a fact it wasn't. It was the highest bid. The player then wanted the move -- the move happens. In the same way the player will move from Everton to Chelsea where the apparent dividing line is much thinner. The player wants a move -- he moves.

Did Wilson ask for a move?

So if there are many good reasons for SISU selling him as you say why won't you say them?

Maybe when we had Sheringham and Shearer but we've been throwing caps at anyone who has half an eye for goal in the hope that we can find the next partnership like Sheringham or Shearer had. Even more so since the arrival of Rooney.

Sisu? CCFC sold him didn't they -- or are you now saying that sisu are CCFC? I thought you told Godiva the other day that Sisu were not CCFC - confused by that.

Oh did the Everton guy say he wanted to leave before Chelsea interest?

WAGGOTT did the deal. He is SISU. Which is why TM wanted full control of all transfers.

So are you finally going to tell us all of these many good reasons for selling Wilson, try to change the subject as usual or just go quiet on the threads where you can't back up the crap you are coming out with?

Mark Robbins (remember him?), Mickey Quinn (yeah you know him), Kevin Campbell, Gavin Peacock, Ian Marshall (loved it if he was in an England shirt), Tommy Johnson, Paul Kitson, Andy Booth, One other CCFC player (who is that?), one other CCFC player for another team (who is that?), Dean Windass, a Nuneaton Town player (who is that),

Oh for FFS the reason came in for him, he rightly saw an opportunity and left. It was right as if we hadn't he'd have left anyway in January. The bid they had was the highest of the two clubs that were interested. If we hadn't agreed to sell then he would have demanded to leave. He said it was the right time to leave. He increased hos salary four fold -- no player in football ever ever turns that down and if he ever did he would be a fool.

Name one player -- one in the history of the Premier League and its wealth -- that has not moved once a club above it in status wants a player. Its stupid and naive to associate normal business practice with football.

Name one.

Oh and Waggot works for CCFC not sisu. He is paid by CCFC I believe. According to OSB wilson's transfer fee was all left in CCFC. So no nothing to do with sisu -- unless you are now retreating backwards on your embarrassing attempt to take Godiva on regarding business practice.

One more thing. I think you will find Dublin, Keane, Ferguson, Wallace, Gallacher etc. never wanted a move

They moved

Oh so funny.

He never asked for a move. SISU accepted a low offer.

Or shall we have a laugh at your quote of players moving to a prem side. He moved to the division below. And it was Wilson who helped shoot them to the Prem.

So are you now saying that Waggott is nothing to do with SISU?

So how about reasons why it was good business for CCFC to sell him for 3m?

I would argue that is not above its status

Really? Have Liverpool won more silverware than Chelsea since SG has been a pro? Have Liverpool ever won the premier league? How many times have Chelsea won it? I seem to remember he would have earned more by moving to Chelsea than staying at Liverpool.

How about Matt Le Tissier?

One games hasn't changed my mind but I admit to being slightly concerned ;) Fair play to him.

Talk ofof berating sisu for selling him is ludicrous. His head had been turned and he would have wanted to go. What's the alternative? Put an unhappy player in the reserves? We forget that they do a job. He got offered more money at a bigger club. Again, fair play to him.

Probably because he played a big big part in Bournemouth getting promoted to the premier league and in style. How much do Bournemouth stand to earn from his goals last season? That's a good return for £3M. How much are strikers capable of getting those goals this time around being bought for this week in the championship?

He seems to be finding his feet in the premier league now. Was that the first hatrick of this premier league season?

He was offered a long term contract to remain at LiverpoolThe contract was worth more according to press reports.

Le tissiier refused a move as did Steve Bull.

It's interesting and someone kind of you to try and assist the hapless astute who when asked to provide facts is left somewhat floundering. However, given your recent episode when you accused Mowbray of being a nobody I would say it's not the best defender one could employ.

The notion any club in league one can refuse a £3 million deal for a player is absurd especially when he then wants the deal.

You of course do agree with this but you and Astutes rather toe curling and boring obsession with me will prevent you from admitting this.

So we enter another phase of "intellectual" jousting which is akin to Professor Hawkins challenging Benny from crossroads at trivial persuit.

How's Miss Diane these days?

The two financial years prior to selling Wilson we lost £7m and £8m, even if it had been Elliot and Robinson in charge they would have sold for £3m. We needed the money.

I interrupt the tag team match between Grendel, Astute and Tony to ask if you watched Grendel's appearance last night on Beowulf (it's a distraction method I often use on my 9 year old when he's in a wound up argumentative mood!)
