Who said all? Majority are law abiding citizens. But look at the stats of murders commited by gun and knives in the past 15 years. Majority by black people. I can't explain why but it's the truth. This city this year has seen murders and attempted murders and the majority commited by ethnic communities. What does that tell you? Sensible replies please

I hope my phone isn't monitored but even the BNP disagree with you - the majority of murders are committed in the UK by white people. Of course they do some spin and say a black person is 6 times more likely to kill you. You'd be very sad about the Asian element

I find the banter on this forum normally amusing. However, having come across these comments I actually don't know what to say.

You seem to be probably the most vile, odious creature I have encountered on here. I am genuinely stunned people like you and Krishner actually exist as you are such an antithesis to the way I think.

When did you last look at stats? I mentioned knife crime and gun crime. You look at the stats especially in London and this year in coventry, majority of knife crime and stabbings were committed by ethnics. Look at the poor stabbing of daniel kirkwood, stabbed to death on a night out by Muslims in a nightclub. Sick. The stabbing in stoke Aldermoor only Friday was committed by an African. Not all ethnics are bad people but there seems to be a worrying trend with knife and gun crime associated with ethnic minority not to mention grooming gangs which is higher than anything we've seen in recent history. You can spout racist all you want but difference between a racist and a realist

Also the attempted abduction of a 13 year old in coventry recently committed by Pakistani origin. Which is happening up and down the country with Muslim grooming gangs which has been happening for years. It's a scary thought that it goes by without much media attention which is because the police and authorities don't want a backlash. Many crimes have a media blackout. Why is that?

You seem to try and answer your own question with an answer in the previous sentences......what I ask, is what are you out to achieve with this stuff? Haven't always agreed with Grendel, but your sentiments and what they 'could' stir up are just as vile as the crimes you refer to. The vast majority of all people, regardless of race and ethnicity are decent - don't try to do 'the majority of jews' style preaching stuff. Nasty

Because it's 2015 and your branded a racist if you say something against the grain of society. I say it how it is. I've been called racist so many times with stuff I have written today but what I've said is the truth so what's worse? People can't have a decent debate because too scared to speak the truth or it's trendy to call anyone with the slight belief that immigration and so on is a bad thing gets tarnished with the racist tag. Another article to back up everything I've said today http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...d-racial-tensions-ahead-General-Election.html

About sums up this country nowadays. Too afraid to upset certain religions.

Please explain how? I'm dealing with facts backed up via different articles etc... How is telling the truth racist? I keep asking the question but no-one is answering

You're selectively cherry picking to create a skewed argument, deliberately trying to stir up fear and division.

That's how.

People are telling you, you just refuse to listen in return because you're stuck in a world of paranoia where you only agree with that which chimes with your world view.

Cherry picking? How do you work that out? What exactly have I cherry picked in the above? People telling me what exactly? Telling me I'm wrong? Clearly I'm not wrong as my statements are backed up by the freedom of information act as stated in the articles.

World of paranoia? The world I live is sees soliders being be-headed on our streets. Suicide bombers causing mayhem and misery to our streets. British holidaymakers getting shot dead on holiday. Grooming gangs targeting young vulnerable girls. Young local lad getting stabbed to death in nightclub, broad daylight stabbings and child abduction. That's the real world not paranoia

Which profession is the one most responsible for murders in the UK in the last 40 years?

Wow some interesting stuff posted on here tonight! Going back to the refugee issue, I cannot explain my reasons but something is making me very nervous about the situation. Maybe it's scaremongering I don't know but something isn't right about it all

Wow, just read the Lurker stuff. Wow.

The only accurate way to categorise criminals is that they are all bad people. What are you trying to say by implying that a majority are black - that this somehow is the cause? What I'm sure is true is the majority of murderers are men. What do you want to do with that statistic?

I don't think Lurker is saying anything revolutionary- just his opponents all appear to have been conditioned to react in a certain way. Have a look:

http://www.rotherham.gov.uk/downloads/file/1407/independent_inquiry_cse_in_rotherham

Similarly with black people and knives- I'm sure we can all quote decent black people by the bus load, but for some reason there's a bit of a thing with knives and gangs going on. Don't ask me why:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...crime-the-figures-and-a-question-of-race.html

The truth is powerful, although it is frequently obscured by a whole load of different agendas.

Back to the "refugee crisis"- I am highly suspicious that there are some who knew roughly how this was going to turn out all along, and now it's suddenly become Europe's problem. Despite the obvious good intentions of many on here and elsewhere, we are being played for a bunch of idiots.

No Harry, you are missing the point. We all know that some black people do bad things. They do that because they are member of the set Bad People, not because they are black.

I'm sure i could conveniently just list crimes perpetrated by white folks and forget those committed by ethnic minorities. That's what you and the other poster are doing, isn't it?

Let's start with the paedophiles convicted last week, shall we...

As for being "conditioned". I'm pleased to say I'm conditioned to have a different POV from the two of you.

If you ever have to flee your home, remember to leave all your possessions there too because if anyone sees you with a phone or clothes that aren't torn rags you'll be told to go home. Who cares if it's not there any more, you can't have it that bad if you've got an iPad!

Is that the same as the people on benefits type shows where they are complaining they don't have any money to eat while they sit in front of their big TV with full sky package, kids have ipads, they have new iphones etc?

Apparently. Don't trust one, don't trust them all. Refugees need a uniform of rags and misery or they're just trying to get in the GP queue ahead of me, just telling it like it is and stuff

“Hey, those people fleeing war in Syria aren’t poor at all! Look, they all have smartphones!” is one increasingly tedious complaint that has been bubbling away on social media recently. Owning a mobile phone, it seems, should render one ineligible for help when trying to stop yourself and your family from dying in a war.
On the surface this may look like xenophobia searching for something to grab on to following a shift in the public mood towards refugees from the Middle East. But it is actually a fairly progressive stance: just weeks ago the anti-immigration brigade were complaining that migrants are unskilled and just want our benefits. And now they’re arguing that migrants are too wealthy instead, implicitly arguing we should prioritise helping the poor. But in any case, it does raise an interesting question: Exactly how surprised should we be that people from Syria carry smartphones?

Syria is not a rich country, but it is not a poor country either: it ranks as a “lower middle income” according to the World Bank. In 2007 (the last year stats for both were available) Syria had a Gross National Income (GNI) per capita of $1850 which is more than Egypt at the time, which was only at $1620. Mobile phone penetration is similarly high in Syria as Egypt too. According to the CIA World Factbook in 2014 Syria had 87 mobile phones per 100 of the population, compared to Egypt’s 110 per 100 (the UK has 123 per 100 people).

In 2011 we saw Egyptians take to the streets and using the power of their smartphones to mobilise support across apps and social media. Which raises another question: why can we accept that Egypt can have phones ubiquitous enough to ferment a revolution, yet act surprised when a wealthier country not too far away isn’t in a similar situation?

So we know that Syria isn’t dirt poor and we know that there’s a lot of mobile phones: but why smartphones? Well, why not? In the West many people own desktop computers, laptops and tablets as well as smartphones. But if you had to give up many of your possessions and live on $1,850 a year, after clothes and food, what would you buy next? It is hard to think of a more useful thing to own than a smartphone, especially if you're fleeing your home.Even when utility isn’t considered, the reason Syrians are using smartphones and not old Nokia 3210s is the same reason that benefits claimants have (gasp!) “flatscreen” TVs… have you tried buying any other kind lately? Budget Android smartphones can be picked up for well under £100, and come with cameras, large screens and everything you would expect from a modern phone. As we’re now in the habit of replacing our phones with a new model every year or two the price of slightly older phones also drops significantly.

It's also possible to pick up the second generation iPhone - the iPhone 3G - for around £25, and despite being a few years old is still perfectly serviceable. There are more mobile phones than people in the world so chances are that anyone who can afford a phone (like millions of Syrians) already own one.So the answer to how surprised should we be that many of the Syrian refugees have smartphones is a resounding “not very”. The world isn’t a binary split between “rich” and “poor” – and we should adjust our assumptions about the countries in the middle accordingly.

You can't really make mad snap judgements based on trivial things like possessions or exploitative memes.

Nearly 500 posts and still just s stalemate of rigid views from both extremes. You'll never get a sensible discussion

What are you going on about? How is attacking blatant racism an extreme?

All I ever read on these discussions is arguments between modern day Alf Garnetts v those who refuse to accept that there are any downsides to immigration / multiculturism.
Virtually any discussion on any other subject involves pro's, con's and constructive discussion.
That's all I'm saying. Why not understand and challenge people's prejudices. People aren't born racist so something has caused them to be like that.
What is interesting is that these days I hear comments of a racist nature from people who 20-30 years ago would have been on the receiving end themselves. It's an interesting topic which has had a massive impact on the country particularly over the last 15 years and is worthy of intelligent debate
