He's seriously injured you knob head and is likely to miss most if not all of the rest of the season. You've proved nothing. You do know that if he isn't able to fully recover from his injury it doesn't prove you right on anything?

It proves the subtle argument is lost on a philistine like you

He's 18. Newcastle will be much happier keeping him on loan somewhere he fits in and is happy at that ages. As long as he keeps doing well and wants to stay he probably will.

Hopefully Newcastle will see value in keeping him at a team playing well & getting regular 1st team football scoring goals until the end of the season. Builds his confidence/experience for next season for them.

Any of our loan players could get recalled at any time, all of which are currently playing an important part.

If he does get recalled I'm sure Mowbray has options

Armstrong is doing exactly what Newcastle would have hoped for. he's not ready for the premier league. A successful season at Coventry would be perfect for his development and it comes with the added bonus of having Tm at the helm.

No it's appropriate.

Especially the comment regarding intellect

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=philistine

You to a tee - if you pardon the pun

Ha ha ha. The urban dictionary. You do know its not a real dictionary don't you? How long did you have to consider using that after looking in a real dictionary and realising that you were talking complete bollocks? Or are we supposed to believe that a I'm guessing 50 something Marillion fan is hip with the kids? The actual definition of the word philistine does appear below the butchered by people who don't understand what they're saying definition that you're clinging to at the top of the page.

And you then go on about intellect. Too funny for words.

How the urban dictionary describes itself. Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced online dictionary of slang words and phrases that was founded in 1999 as a parody of Dictionary.com by then-college freshman Aaron Peckham.

He's good and of the many PL loan players we've had you can actually see him making it at the top level. That said he's not ready for that yet and throwing him in, especially with the mess they are in and the pressure that we be on him, could ruin him.

He could be effective in the Championship but I can't see why Newcastle would want him to move in January if we keep playing as we are. He seems to be enjoying himself, the whole squad seems to get on and he's playing under a respected manager. He's scoring and playing well and you never know could end up league top scorer and with a promotion under his belt.

A case of if it ain't broke don't fix it

Could dominic samuel play the Armstrong role if Newcastle take him back and if samuel is fit reading are doing well without him

If I'm honest I'm expecting Armstrong to go on loan to a championship club in January, if he keeps scoring he will be in demand from championship clubs and from Newcastle point of view it makes sense from a player development point of view.

Woukd prefer to keep arms but damsels.not a bad replacement

Still.hold out we get both. As you say chances.of a Samuel.loan seem high right noe considering he won't get in reading tram this seaosn it seems. Let's hope he's the same player though

No I meant you were a person lacking intellect.

See how this suits then;

Thing is though, sometimes in football clubs and managers make rash decisions.

Desperate situations, desperate measures, without applying logic.

I am guessing many Newcastle fans will be screaming for his recall.

Newcastle are bottom with a -11 goal difference. I think McLaren is gone. Hopefully the new manager will look at the current team players before recalling any loans.

Ha ha ha. Again you talk about interlect and now you're making out that you're using it as a synonym. You still need to look at the real definition i.e. not in the urban dictionary to make sure you're using said word in context, which you weren't. Try looking at the actual definition of the word if you don't understand it before using it. I may not be the most intellectual person in the world but I at least know that when using a thesaurus you have to check the actual meaning of the alternative word in a dictionary before using said word to ensure you are using it in context, which you're not. So however dumb you're trying to portray me to be you're only proving yourself to dumber.

Just to be clear I'm neither hostile to the art's and culture or a non-Semitic from the south of Palestine. That is the actual definition of a philistine.

Yep, that's my worry too. He would score goals in the championship. He reminds me a bit of Ross McCormack.

With Newcastle being the 5th biggest spenders in Europe this season with an outlay of £50mill, if they now need to pin their seasons hopes on an 18y old reserve player, they're truly screwed as a club.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...head-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Liverpool.html

They were screwed the moment they appointed McLaren. He's simply not got the ability to do it in the premier league. Personally I was flabbergasted when he got the job. I bet he still can't catch his breath himself.

The only danger I see regards Armstrong going back is if MaClaren or any new manager wants to see how he fares in the next level up, to be honest if I was Newcastle boss that's what I would be doing so you better all hope I don't get the job

Fine thanks. But then I know to always use a dictionary with a thesaurus. Yourself?

We've had this kind of tiresome debate before - and you ended up with egg on your face.

It's absurd to bring original meanings to a phrase that has common associations with ignorance.

It's would be like me accusing someone of being a Luddite for not understanding how to use a computer to a level of competence. I would not be suggesting he is going to smash up all modern machinery within his presence.

I think you will find Tony started it with his failed attempt at one upmanship.

However, I have successfully concluded the debate and will refrain from further discussion.

Back to the subject of discussion no one really knows what Newcastle intend with Armstrong. If they wish to sell him it's possible they will do so in January.

I suspect they will have far more things to worry about that him and his development come January.

The other thing we don't know is the salary arrangement. Again if a club offers a better deal than presently we have they may accept it.

The odds are heavy that he stays assuming he is settled in the area and wants to.

Talking of the area, where does TM live these days?

He talked yesterday of a 2 1/2 hr drive home. Thought he may have moved a bit nearer, as he has spent quite a bit of time in the Midlands before.

Middleborough is a 3 hr drive. Guessing it must be somewhere just south of there.

I think you'll find that I stated what seems to be a popular opinion that there is more than a good chance that AA may end up in the championship after our agreement ends. You don't agree, fair enough. You even go on to say why, no problem with that, that's called a debate. I counter that, as we're debating. You then give a scenario using Wilson as an example of what could happen if he moves up stating Wilson's value has gone down when in fact that is due to a serious injury and nothing to do with ability and hacking it at a higher level something I and one of your usual allies pull you up on that's when you start calling me a philistine and as I've pointed out I'm not.

You don't agree with me and alot of others on what may happen come January, fair enough I can deal with that. Like i said all along I hope I'm wrong. I was not trying to gain "one upmanship" as you put it. Yes I called you a knob head (which you are) and you called me a philistine (which clearly I'm not if you understand the true meaning) so any "one upmanahip" I did gain you gifted me with your failed one man crusade you went on to try and redefine the meaning of a word using the urban dictionary as "fact" and failing to use a thesaurus correctly.

the OP titled the thread Newcastle & Armstrong, however, whilst at the game & listening to C&W, C.Eakin came out with a comment to the effect,
it would be nice to have a few words with Armstrong after the game but his agent has told him he mustn't talk to the press
if that's so, what on earth is the agent saying that for ?

Does anyone know what the true meaning of 'Knobhead' is?

Then more I think about it, the more I think having a knob on your head would be really cool.

Could prove very popular with the ladies and could mean you could do 2 women at once.

Cool!!

I imagine his kids are in school up there and he probably doesn't want to move them.

With the Tollbar roadworks, that could easily mean he lives in Stoneleigh!
