Pleasure deano and look forward to seeing all the volunteers at the next Saturday game. It is something that really keeps kids interests up before the game. My son is 13 and thinks the craft elements beneath him but always looks out for the injured players who turn up....and even gave sky blue Sam a wave this week lol

I think he meant the area in the stands where the JSBs sit, rather than the bit the volunteers put on the concourse.

Not really, because nobody was Fing and Blinding around the kids in the bit where the volunteers were before the game. It was in the stand when the game was on.

well the complaint was in the stand and not under the stand so to completely different areas. family zone is area under the stand for kids we have nothing to do with us once your in the stands sitting down.

Yea but above in the seating or below in the concourse, its still all the family zone. How can it be family stand when its only about 2 or 3 blocks.

Its a different thing isn't it if it happens during the game in the stand, or before the game where the volunteers and loads of kids are?
Needed to be pointed out it wasn't in the bit before the game as it might put people off going or blacken what the volunteers do there, which is great!

I'm lost now! Are the family zone (the kids pre match bit) and the family stand (the jsb bit) in the same part of the ground?
Seems a solution here is to have stewards checking people tickets on the way into the stand and / or moving the cash turnstiles so they aren't right by the family zone / area / stand / blocks.

Chances are if you use the area put on by volunteers then you sit in the family zone as well anyway though so would encounter it anyway. Why would people be swearing and shouting in the concourse anyway? It seemed obvious to me this particular complaint was about language used during the match. As for the complaint about people getting drunk, I've never been to the volunteers area but I'm guessing there is a bar within fairly close proximity to it.
So just to clarify if I buy tickets in the Family Zone do I just get access to the area put on by the volunteers before the match or does the family zone tickets include the seating area?
Clearly people have taken offence, so I'll just leave it now I wasn't trying to criticise the volunteers but surely the family zone is the entire area and not just limited to where the volunteers entertain before the match.

I changed it to stand to make it clearer that it happened in the stand and not in the concourse, whilst it was obvious to me it might not have been for others!

Not really. If something happens in the stand during the game it is different to it happening before the game where the volunteers are doing stuff for the kids. Was just trying to make it clear it was in the stands during the game not down there.

we come under the family zone banner but only within our area on concourse,once they enter the stand the stewards take control.so if the tickets say sitting in family zone so be it.but the family zone volunteers have no control once they leave the concourse.we are situated under block 26 when sitting is in 25 and 24.

With Malaka permission I donned my SCG hat and spoke to club - they offered their apologies to all who had been affected by others bad behaviour in the family stand. They were having a word with the stand manager about it. Stewards will be keeping an eye out and intervening if they see inappropriate behaviour, kids left unaccompanied and drunken behaviour in this stand.
I think club has reacted very quickly and correctly so I tip my SCG hat to them and hopefully this matter will be put to rest.

Just wanted to update you
A very nice steward approached me last night to apologise and was honest in the fact that the steward at the weekend, did see the anti social behaviour and the kids left to their own devices, but did nothing. In typical fashion, the culprits were not there last night, but the steward did assure me that she has instructed the stewards to challenge the behaviour when it happens again. And to be fair the steward was far more vigilant last night.
Thanks to all of you for your advice, support and actions. It is much appreciated.

depends on upbringing really, a few hours with swearing aint gonna turn a kid into a prick, but if the same goes ona t home then yeah they may become dreggs of society

It is more about teaching them right from wrong. I don't use the best language. But all of my grown up kids have done well. And the younger ones are doing well for their age. My daughter who was 14 yesterday is top of her year or nearly top in every subject. When she started high school she was already getting grades that would pass her exams. And yes I swear.
