Yes he was but when he then crossed the ball into the centre of goal it was a forward pass to the goal scorer, slightly but it was still a forward pass and the goal shouldn't have stood

Yes but he was replying to someone who thought the winger was offside when he received the ball and before he crossed it.

Let's just call it for what it is, bad defending, defenders ball watching, letting their center forward run into the penalty area unchallenged.

But Kitching has been faultless according to some since returning to the side? For me he has just been okay with few stand out moments. I am pleased though that he seems to have calmed his temperament down.

I still think we can develop Thomas (especially as he is the pick of the bunch) and I still see development potential in Kitching and Binks.

It would be nice though to bag a centre back in the summer along the quality lines of Grimes in midfield.

CB, LB and RB are the areas we are lacking assuming no one goes out.

Is that precisely when the pass was made. It’s the problem with stills, only need to be a fraction out and makes a huge difference in perspective of positioning - as at Wembley.
The Wembley one was crystal clear. They drew an offside line which went along Haji’s toe but Wan-Bissaka’s instep! The evidence they produced pretty much proved Haji was onside

Just seen the below document on twitter.

Looks as though we moved Bidwell to be the more attacking fullback and positioned Milan more as a back up which I think @Chicken Mcgraw suggested on his post.

Just thought it was interesting to see.

So we've got this still of the lino being perfectly in line to make the (correct) first call. Then people are moaning that he hasn't kept up with a sprinting championship forward (simultaneously watching the players on the pitch the whole time of course) to again be level when the second pass is made. I suspect the difficulty of the job is being underestimated a bit 🤷‍♂️

It’s already been said, do keep up. The comment you have replied to was referring to the wrong incident.

Yes, but I'm talking about multiple comments since the match blaming the lino for being 'behind the play', when the various pictures show he'd have to be a magician to be in line with both of the passes in question.

I bow to your infallibility oh wise one! Hard to see how a line that touches different parts of the foot is a fair line…but clearly you know best
The VAR guys aren't using the TV to make the call. Sadly in the crucial split second that counts, Haji stuck his foot out and was offside, as pictures posted by me and others showed at the time.

And yet the first offside came a few yards into our half and he still missed that one. Without any catching up to do. That’s a really bad miss.

People have literally got to the point of saying it’s onside just so they have an excuse to slag off the defence.

Sounds like we need a screenshot of that one too 🤔

It won't let me upload but it's about 7 minutes 55 into the extended highlights.

Not the best angle though.

For what it's worth I didn't think all the claims the crowd were shouting for were offside.
Ah yes I've seen that one now too. From the highlights, he's offside relative to Bidwell but it's impossible to say whether Kitching (slightly out of shot but deeper than Bidwell) is playing him on. Marginal either way.
