Don’t know about meltdown, but feels reasonable to suggest we don’t have enough depth in midfield to get into the top 6.

The lack of depth leads to a vicious circle. If we had more midfielders, it reduces game time and pressure on players like Sheaf. A reason why, at time of speaking, not signing another is pretty sloppy.

It’s not been terrible, but a pretty mad take to say we have had a good window with the midfield we have left.

This pretty much nails it. A very weird transfer policy if we don’t bring in any other midfielder. It really shouldn’t have been left this late either. The midfielder depth has been a problem from last season.

Not specifically CAM I guess, but an attacking minded midfielder. I think the Bristol City game showed his usefulness when we’re a goal behind.

So who would be coming off the bench to replace Rudoni now as CAM? We are now light for a Sheaf replacement and a CAM for depth in midfield. If we bring in replacements then great otherwise top 6 is a push for me.

It’s a very small sample, but through the games this season it’s glaringly obvious we need another midfielder and I would have said this even before the football started. Would leave us horribly light and struggling for top 6 without further depth. Even worse with losing Palmer.

In isolation, this is a weird sell for me. Good sub to bring on and we need as many midfielders as possible at the moment. Hoping two midfield intakes tomorrow (either buy or loan).

Presuming we don’t get another midfielder in, should he start playing much deeper (especially when Sheaf is injured). Seems our best on the ball and can connect defence with attack. I thought him as a more attacking player originally, but needs must if we can’t get someone else in.
