Ehh, those are okay. Not amazing. I like the collar but the rest of it could easily be any no-brand sportswear company.

It’s interesting because a few more (typically smaller) clubs have started opening this up to fans — Morecambe’s kit for next season was the subject of a poll although despite having an interesting variety of options they then opted to ignore all of them for their final choice.

Might well have been. Certainly they qualify.

Some of those Puma kits were truly soulless horrors, weren’t they? Proper mid noughties blandness. I actually seem to recall an article in the national press around maybe 2007 calling our kit (it was the one with the bits of silver/grey on the sides) the worst kit in the league. Not because it...

Also, the Denmark Ladies’ team has a new kit for the World Cup that’s different to the current Mens’ team kit. So there’s even more possibilities. FWIW I think the ladies’ kit looks stellar, and could work really well in sky blue.

Ha, those are amazing! I think if the purple and yellow one was actually halved different shades of purple vs different shades of yellow then that could work really well.

Looking for 2010/11 green and black away shirts

Why not just get the Nike Teamwear Striped Division III shirt? Same as this season’s third kit, minus badge and sponsor. Only £13 from Kitlocker.

It’s a bit rough around the edges but I had a go at mocking up a green and black striped variant of the classic Hummel kit.

Oh, and ConceptKits deserve credit for making the Midrepro logo monochrome: it’s way better that way.

Both very nice, although with the exception of the half-half toning the home shirt is basically Man City’s 18/19 shirt, right? One thing I am looking forward to is having some uniqueness to our kit from next season instead of a hand-me-down.

The value in these kinds of kit is in the fashion statement amongst fans, not really how good (or bad) they look on the pitch. Given how much of a money spinner football kits are today I’d be much happier with us choosing a kit that looks class to wear (even if only subjectively) and so a load...

That Man United kit is a classic. Takes after some of Juventus’ best away kits, too.

Sure, but all the clubs that used it got it at the same time.

Sure, and not even necessarily pink. Just... doing something interesting and unusual. Like, that’s what made our previous Hummel shirt so good; it was completely unlike anything else that had existed previously (or at least, before the initial Denmark shirt that was the template).

Those mockups are superb, Alkhen. I’d particularly love to see a V-neck revisit of the 87/88 kit, and I can imagine there are folks inside Hummel who’d feel the same if they were doing something bespoke. I’m glad to hear it will be bespoke though; whilst I’ve enjoyed seeing the swoosh on our...

    A new CCFC club badge

Depends if they do it badly. Loads of clubs have done it well, and then within a few years people forget their logo even looked differently beforehand. It’s just a matter of striking the balance between tradition and progress.

    New 3rd Kit

Oh yeah, forgot about that one! I think at the time I wasn’t keen because comparisons to Brazil were such nonsense (we were in League One, right?) and the yellow and green was clearly so that CityLink could have their sponsor badge in their usual green and yellow. The yellow kit I loved the...

Personally I really miss the yellow away kits of the late 80s/early 90s.

    New 3rd Kit

This is a fascinating trend for me. Previously it was always very difficult for fans to ‘vote’ for which historical kits they liked by wearing them since availability was always an issue. FMC have opened a door to the club being able to firstly see that there is demand for fashionable club kits...

    A new CCFC club badge

I do plan to, but I can’t say when that’ll happen. I’ve got an 11 week old baby and far less free time than I used to, and I struggled to find a supplier who could do the embroidery overlock. One of these days I’ll find time to look into it again and hopefully stick them on sale. I spent a fair...
