    A4 Banners

Ah, but I also only express mild discontentment with the management. That way it all balances out. The way I figure it, I can't do much from here (not in Coventry any more) and it seems like the situation itself doesn't change, only the names do...

    A4 Banners

I humbly submit my offering. I've decided to make it futureproof by not specifically referencing SISU so that we can use it again in 2-4 years’ time.

Admin is a better option than SISU

Speculation is speculation. It's not misleading unless you take it at face value without thinking it through. Even I'm not 100% certain the things I brought up are at all likely.

Coventry city receive formal bid from Gary Hoffman.

SISU's position: they want to recoup as much of their original investment (i.e. the loan they owe to the bank) before selling. Say it's £20m — that's a big loss to take if they accept the offer of £1 from the consortium. However if the club goes into administration then they're pretty much never...

Admin is a better option than SISU

Pay what? The reports suggest the bid is £1 plus taking on the club's debts. If the debts are taken on then the club goes into administration and debtors get (say) 10p in the pound then the new owners effectively get to buy the club for 10% of its original liabilities. I'm pretty sure this is...

Admin is a better option than SISU

Just a thought - what if Gary Hoffman's consortium is planning on entering administration as soon as they take over? As a potential investor that would be worth getting involved in, as almost all debts could be wiped out quickly for effectively no outlay.

Admin is a better option than SISU

According to this page on wikipedia there are 19 clubs who've had deductions after entering administration (in one instance — Rotherham Utd — twice), and another 8 who entered admin after Leicester City but who weren't given a points deduction. Their fates since then are as such: Wrexham (2004...

Admin is a better option than SISU

It's interesting stuff no doubt, but there's no guarantee that just because we're not a Leeds, Southampton or Portsmouth we'd suffer the fate as Luton. In fact there are very few reasons to suppose we'd have it as bad as them if we went into administration — don't forget they were docked thirty...

Admin is a better option than SISU

What exactly does how often somebody goes to see the club play have to do with the validity of their argument?

So who's going to Norwich then?

I'll be there with keBaB and my girlfriend (who isn't a CCFC fan, sadly). Too right on the £33 charge — a taste of the price rises Norwich fans will be enjoying next season, methinks!

    New badge and new kit

Exactly my sentiments. I would much prefer this retro badge to be kept indefinitely, on whatever kit they come up with. If you look at the logos and brand marques that have survived the test of time they're always the simple, clean, minimalist ones. Think Nike, IBM, Ford, Coca-Cola, Apple. None...

How much would you pay for an iPhone / Android App?

An app is a waste of time in my view. The development costs will far outstrip the benefits (to do it well) and as others have pointed out, it's not even necessary. The best way of approaching this is simply to create mobile browser-specific CSS and views — trim away the fat (all the pointless...

Article: Coventry City Release Images of New Club Crest

For once I'm actually proud of something the club has produced creatively. This is a brilliant new crest, I really love it. I'm just sad it's only going to be used for a single season — I'd be happy to see this used as the shirt crest indefinitely.

    current health of CCFC

The FA have zero incentive to change things — it's a rich boy's club in there, and some of the crap they come out with defies belief. You know the stuff; the tripe about how ‘Football is in a healthy state in this country’. This after governmental reports show that there are deep-rooted problems...

    current health of CCFC

Wasn't Jutkiewecz a considerable purchase (undisclosed, of course, but I'd say over £1m)?

    current health of CCFC

I bought the accounting reports from Companies House for ACL and they tell an interesting story. For the first few years the company actually made a considerable loss each year, but that was reversed in 2006 with an up front payment of nearly £6m from the Isle of Capri for the lease of the site...

Sell our best players or Admin?

Other than Marlon King, just who else is a ‘top earner’? Westwood? Gunnarsson? Anybody who isn't out of contract in the summer and potentially could just walk anyway?

    I'm new here!

I knew a Kelvin from Cambridge (well, Soham, actually) but he was a Manure fan. That's not the same one is it?

Sweet deal — I think this'll tempt me up for the first time this season.
