Hamer chants are tragic. Great as he was, he screwed us over in the summer and isn’t our player anymore. Obviously still have him back though.

Intentionally or not JDS is definitely being targeted. Very open in midfield, loads of space for them. But means we’re attacking quickly and in numbers.

Assuming/hoping he’s told Godden/Palmer/Lati to go full throttle for 60 knowing he’s got positive changes to make at that point. Same could also be said for JDS/Bidwell.

Most disappointed at the MVE and Godden decisions tbh. Silver lining; what a bench.

Biggest team selection change I want to see today (assuming nothing else has changed); Simms in for Godden. Don’t mind Godden but we can’t have another game feeling like we’re playing with 10.

I like them both. Eccles is continuously improving and his passing range is certainly getting better. He shows great leadership qualities too. However Sheaf is the superior player. Stats can be argued but watch the game, he offers for the ball constantly, and in areas where he can actually...

    Sakamoto Chant

It is a bit meandering, doesn’t have an easy to follow rhythm and isn’t a great one for the masses, but I actually really like it. When it properly gets going it’s quite catchy. It’s a grower.

Don’t get the idea to move Wright away from the LW. Don’t get the clamour to start Palmer on the LW. I do fully get the thought process of giving Bidwell a rest, but I don’t think he will. I would suspect we see him come off earlier though. Assuming no Kitching or Sheaf; Collins MVE Thomas...

    Kitching

I still haven’t seen a decent clip of the incident. Has anyone got a link?

Collins - 6 - excellent save second half, but poor with his feet/general decision making. Disappointed with that side of his game, especially as that’s his USP. MVE - 6.5 - quieter game than previous few, but his pace was a threat offensively and helped us defensively a few times. Even...

Not always practical though is it, especially on Boxing Day when people will likely be balancing numerous activities. The final few games last season when we experienced massive crowds we didn’t have the same issues. Small things like opening up the double doors and having stewards scanning...

Really good result. We’ve played better over 90 this season and also a hell of a lot worse. The final two thirds of the first half we were excellent and they couldn’t get near us, they were being forced to play so deep and despite losing were trying to slow things down just to get some respite...

Queues are horrendous. Expected to be bad, but surely they should have plans in place.

Genuinely love watching these - it’s a real post match highlight. Shame the fans are in a rubbish position to get any proper footage of as I imagine it would have been immense to see. As others have said the chemistry is clear now and growing each time. Play off push is on.

    Boxing day roll call

I’m there with the usual four others. Repeating myself from the match thread, but I’m very pleasantly surprised I got a pass with absolutely zero effort as it’s Christmas Day #2 at the in laws tomorrow. I’ve said I’ll be out 3-5 which isn’t strictly true, but I’ll deal with that when it’s get...

    Recommend a book

Non-fiction wise, I’m generally into historical fiction or fantasy type books. I have forgotten loads as only just getting back into regularly reading after a few years off, but here’s some of my favourites/the ones I remember! Historical Fiction Bernard Cornwell - favourites; Warlord Series...

Looking forward to a Boxing Day game, even more so as I’m surprised I’ve not had more stick or guilt trips considering it’s Christmas Day #2 at the in laws! Especially looking forward to seeing the ever improving Sakamoto, Wright, MVE and COH. Also really hoping this is the game Simms get a...

This team will be better than the 22/23 team

Bit late to the party but fully agree. The strength in depth has significantly improved and I feel we have better footballers this season too. We are missing the two standouts from last year and don’t have anyone at their level who can single handedly drag us to a win when needed. But neither...
