Much prefer an unknown (hopefully foreign gem) type signing than the same old names cropping up. Sounds obvious, but expectations will need to be managed amongst the fans; he isn’t Hamer, he’s coming from a weaker league than ours and is one with ability but still lots of potential. He isn’t...

We’re definitely going to go through the usual SBT new signing curve with this one (if he signs).

    Running

See I wouldn’t call myself a trail or fell runner by any stretch, however the majority of my longer routes will be cross country/bridal paths etc so all sorts of terrain. I prefer it to so running around streets. Worth giving one a go?

Tempted to sign up to the Leicestershire Half on Feb 25th. Ideally I’d like another organised race before them, preferably a half but also open to 10k. I’ve checked FindaRace and can’t see much, anyone got any recommendations for races or other sites to check?

Match Thread Coventry City - Leicester City Match Thread - Saturday 13th Jan

Really hope MR goes it for and plays to our strengths as opposed to fearing the oppositions. We always look a lot better on the front foot. I expect he will play his strongest XI but tweak the tactics slightly so we start slightly more conservatively before releasing the brake at around 60...

    Leicester

Not read this chat for a few days; what an intense, sort of interesting, sort of enjoyable, bizarre 15 pages. I don’t feel any real rivalry to Leicester, or anyone to be honest. There’s a few teams I don’t like for Cov related reasons, but I’m not really seeing this, opponents wise, as anything...

Me too. While we need a number 8 type player, I wonder if the change in formation and style has impacted anything? Or the improved performances, results and momentum has resulted in an increase in options. Still confident we’ll have Hamer#2 by Feb.

73 Passes in the build up to a goal v Oxford

Excellent - what an impressive stat. It is truly representative of how we dominated that game, and overall the quality and confidence we have on the ball.

Hadn’t seen that before and it genuinely made me laugh out loud. Fantastic story!

FA CUP 4TH ROUND DRAW - MONDAY 19:50 (ish)

Home against one of the weaker teams. Don’t care about a big name or a “local” rival, I’d just prefer to keep progressing. It’s great for team spirit and momentum, adds excitement for the fans and money in the coffers.

    Matty Godden

Godden was pivotal to our rise and will always be synonymous with that. His goal scoring record is also massively under appreciated too. He was the main man in our dominating L1 season. However, we’ve changed styles, formations and tactics several times since then, and unfortunately for Godden...

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

I’ve been busy since I posted this, but to be clear it was tongue in cheek. Glad it sparked an interesting debate though! Godden did what he does well today; took his chances. However, Simms is still the starting striker in my opinion. Plus the real reason he didn’t celebrate; he’s joining...

Godden not really celebrating = definitely leaving this month.

Appreciate it’s Oxford etc etc, but we really are looking excellent and a real class above. Palmer is clearly enjoying himself.

Good, at least we can see if he can be an option or not. Be good viewing on here later if he does score.

I think the majority of us are desperate for Simms to score, which is a positive. He is having a really strong game too. He is another who will make the usual doubters look silly.

Excellent first half. Would love Simms to get a goal and Taveres to get a solid amount of time second half. Still slightly concerned re their bad tackles.

Also, COH and Palmer are either very fluid or one of them (Palmer) is not really playing left side of the attacking three. Fine when on top but not ideal defensively / if against better opposition.
