His final ball was fucking awful today. His work rate and ball recovery was insane though. Not sure any of that part of his game is any different to 1 year ago. Difference for me has been his finishing. Different level to pre injury.

That Dasilva ball to Godden is exactly why he should never be more than a sub now. Had a whole quarter of the pitch to run into but is so slow he had to check back and pass backwards. Been a great servant but we need something different than that off the bench.

Through ball took a tiny deflection off Thomas which took the pace off the ball and diverted it straight into the attacker's path. Quite lucky but had been coming for 5 minutes already.

I didn't say that but it's not unsurprising as Robins has used him as a sub higher up the pitch already. My point was only that I don;t think the formation is going to be that different, unlike Ipswich. Of course the players picked within that formation will change the dynamic of the team.

I don't think it's anywhere near as bad a set up as Ipswich. If Saka and Dasilva get high up the pitch then it's more or less the same 4-3-3 we've been playing recently. We'll be more defensive to start and then open up more as the game goes on, with the options of chucking O'Hare and Wright on...

It could literally be any formation with that set of players.

I couldn't believe O'Hare made so little of it at the time. But there was very little contact in reality, evidenced by O’Hare easily staying on his feet.

I think the current trend in formations, which are essentially watered down versions of whatever Pep is doing, are leading to very open games. No stats to back it up but I’d bet goals scored are up and clean sheets are down in this league, compared to the previous couple of seasons.
