    Penas

Of the Jermaine variety. Given the boot from the Beeb for "workplace behaviour" involving text messages. My heart bleeds .. Oh dear, how sad, never mind!

    Things that annoy you

Yeah i think everyone got told to wait outside the pub with a bottle of Coke and a bag of cheese and onion while the parents had a drink. Kids weren't allowed in pubs in "our day". Not till all hours, mind

    Clarkson, Hammond and May

Yes, Clarkson is an oaf, but i think he is entertaining. I think Clarkson's Farm is great - it isn't just a big ego-trip for him. James May would be one of the people i would like to have for dinner (with fava beans and a nice Chianti). His "Our Man in ..." was insightful and hilarious in parts...

    Transfer Rumour Norman Bassette

Is this some modern fancy bollocks of a "reverse 442", like a "false 9"??

    Transfer Rumour Norman Bassette

"Ligue 2 side Caen" is not the most inspiring phrase i have heard during this window! Presume his nickname is either Fred or Bertie!

I've been making my wife traditional Vietnamese dinners and here are some photos

It's amazing, Gynn. I only did the northern bit from Hanoi to Hue (overnight) - would love to do the whole 48 hours!

Ca tai tuong chien. It's deep fried, then they stand it up in a plate rack and you attack it with chopsticks to take the flesh off. It's giant gourami - which might be known in your neck of the woods as golden redfish. It's amazing!

Have you ever tried Elephant Ear fish - popular in the Mekong Delta?

My local has it on their menu seasonally, and the French love it. Go to Malta and it's their national dish

Not that it matters, do i take it that your wife and her mother are Vietnamese? What a lovely warm people they are - and this food looks absolutely exquisite. Good job!

    Death List 2024

aka Paderewski - who was a Polish pianist (hence Gnr Graham's nickname to the battery) who fought for Poland's independence and became prime minister! My surname being Graham led to some nicknames at school during those times. RIP John

    Things that annoy you

Finding an old-fashioned 3-piece Colonel's Meal was virtually impossible! And then the chump behind the counter picked out the most measly little bits of chicken he could find on the rack!

    Things that annoy you

I went to KFC for the first time in a long time before the match on Friday - the one at Cross Point. Took me three attempts to figure out their ordering "kiosk", and the contactless reader is very poor! Could've starved to death!!

Match Thread Were the Oxford goals Lucky or calamitous Defending ?

We need an experienced CB with a commanding presence who can jump and head the ****ing ball out 30 yards like Oxford's did. McFadz did that perfectly as well as being a great leader. Binks stood and watched their player head it past him when the cross came over for their first. Needs to challenge.

    Parking

Nah, that's the name of the tiger in Life of Pi. Andy "Tosspot" Street was banging on about a whole host of transport infrastructure projects across the region while he was in post, but many were never delivered, or delivered late and horrendously over-budget (maybe the cost of his hi-viz...

    Parking

Update on this - still free but was almost full by about 6.40. The footpath through Longford Wildlife Reserve to the canal bridge is no longer passable - was something akin to a mangrove swamp for some reason. Down Longford Road to the Tesco bus station still easy option.
