I would imagine it's because we have enough midfielders and there are rumours that bigger clubs will pay a wadge for him - meaning we can improve elsewhere - for example a big striker who can also score.

Well, yes, I'm sure some players in contract will be moved on - even if Walsh doesn't join.

This would lead to loads of goals. Walsh is an intelligent player; he'd make the through pass and then run to the far post to tap in the rebound.

Strictly speaking, that's correct... it's stated that Oakey doesn't approve of "opinion" but it's not made clear whether he thinks it's a belief or a fact. Maybe he can clarify? Because I don't agree that it's a belief either, because there is rationality and fact behind the statement.
