Right who's the next manager then?

It is almost surreal that we seem to be fishing in a pond of household names for our head coach, none of whom will come cheap, yet Doug King is getting stick from some. Don’t get me wrong. I think he sacked MR too soon and the fact that some of the candidates are household names doesn’t...

    Tony mowbray

A great bloke and I wish him all the very best. I wouldn’t mind us having him back, in the Director of Football role. He could be great for us if we engage a relatively young head coach whom TM could mentor.

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Football League World are reporting that we are “interested” in him and “considering an approach”.

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Ah, I hadn't seen that because I'm well behind on here and have missed a lot of posts. I agree with you. I think he is definitely more suited to the head coach role.

    Frank Lampard Rumours

I read that last night and then this morning I saw that the Peterborough chairman is saying that MR would be a perfect fit for Luton. Football can be bonkers at times 🙂

    Frank Lampard Rumours

We are appointing a head coach, not a manager, so it will be a more hands on role with the players. I can't see it happening unless he really wants to get into a club role, in which case we might be ideal for him. He is unlikely to walk straight into a Premiership job but may think League 1 is...

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Let's face it folks, none of us knows how the new manager will perform. We could get someone we don't fancy who turns out be excellent or a manager with a brilliant track record who is useless. Let's face it, Mark Robins' didn't have a great history of success when he joined us but has turned...

Probably out for the rest of the season then. 😳

    Frank Lampard Rumours

I’m optimistic about my chances 👍 At my interview Doug King thanked me profusely for offering to do the job for a pittance and promised that the considerable saving would add to the transfer funds 😊

The Metro and the Mirror are saying the same apparently. So it looks like being Tony Mowbray 😆

    Frank Lampard Rumours

I’m slightly warming to the idea of Lampard, for reasons even I can’t explain. It’s probably just that I want it done and dusted We were always going to get a relatively untested rookie - probably one who has enjoyed some success at a lower level - or a more experienced one who has failed...

    Frank Lampard Rumours

I am, to say the least, distinctly underwhelmed by the prospect of Lampard. I would much have preferred that we kept MR. That said, it’s not the fault of whoever is appointed that MR was sacked. We must get behind the new man and give him our backing if we want to enjoy success.

Right who's the next manager then?

I am familiar with the difference. It would be a bit disappointing if I didn’t after 45 years practising corporate law 😆 Doug King is the sole director. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have people around him who offer advice, even though they are not directors.

Right who's the next manager then?

There isn’t a board as Doug King is the sole director. This means that all important matters are his sole decision rather than a collective one. I do hope that, even though they aren’t directors, he has people around him with a good range of knowledge that he uses as sounding boards.

Right who's the next manager then?

I’m up for that but only if he is a central midfielder, centre back or right back. 👍

Right who's the next manager then?

Mark Robins has recently become available. I guess he would want to manage a much better club than us though.

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

Then I think we will be fishing in a very small pool.

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

I don’t like the sound of that. I believe that a football manager should be in overall charge of all football-related activities of a club. I don’t think there have been many instances where managers have performed particularly well under a Director of Football. At least in those cases the DOF...

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

I’m assuming that this will also be the end of the existing coaching staff as the new manager is likely to want to bring his own people in. I’m sorry to see MR go but a change in the backroom staff could turn out to be a good thing.

My wife supports Wolves. She wants them to sack Gary O’Neill and appoint MR.
