    Kastaneer

I'd love to see Kasta come good. He cannot be happy, it would be wonderful to see him turn his career around.

I don't think it's silly to stick to your word - I would do the same. However there are no legal requirements to paying for two surveys as far as I know. I doubt that the estate agent would let you lead along their clients by pretending that you might buy both though.

I disagree with you but not because I don't think landlords shouldn't pay tax. However I'm not going to comment further as this would lead us down the economics/ideology route.

    the housing market

Can I make a point about stamp duty without this becoming another party political or ideological thread? I make no point on taxation as a whole or how high tax should be... I think that stamp duty is a stupid tax. People need to move for all sorts of reasons and it's expensive enough an...

    the housing market

Up to a point, Lord Copper. If you are upgrading it's best to buy in a repressed market as (assuming a parallel shift) the percentage discount in the bigger house is bigger in cash terms than the discount on your own. Assuming you can sell. The opposite is true if you're downsizing.

    the housing market

Yeah, my Mum refused to move too. We built an annexe with her partially in mind but she wouldn't budge. I can understand it though; a house has so many memories and when you're old, moving is probably the last thing you want to do. I'm not complaining - just irked that councils make stupid...

I'm fine with it - in and out in 30 minutes and we have the added benefit that the house gets cleaned and tidied beforehand. However my wife gets stressed about it and then angry when they send the feedback.

I agree. It's not like you can spend the increase unless you remortgage - and that's a fools' game. It's driven to a large extent by under-supply. However there are loads of new builds going up now - last year the highest number for 30 years. Give it a few years of that and the housing...

    the housing market

Had our house up for sale for about 8 weeks now. We've had about 15 viewings but no offers and the viewings are slowing down. A common complaint is that they want a open plan downstairs and we have rooms. Starting to give up... it's no biggie we like our house. I think our situation is...

Started well but then the quality deteriorated after we were 5-0 up. We have to learn to bury these games.

Podcast Sky Blues Extra - Matty Godden Podcast

Phew! It seems to be the trend nowadays for footballers to say that the supporters are rubbish; that the important thing is that they scored not that the team wins the match and that it's not a game of two halves. Thank Goodness that Matty bucked the trend.

I know it's a spoiler but does he like the Sky Blue Army? It would crush me if he said we were rubbish.

    Site confirmed for New stadium

How wonderful for students, being in such easy access of the ground. One of my mates went to the Lanch in the 80s and went to HR - still has a soft spot for the city. I expect many more fans as a result. If the club is smart it will do half-price or less tickets for the students.

    Realistic Expectations next season

Quite possibly. There's an awful lot of tosh written on here sometimes. I'd file that comment with suggestions that SISU want to deliberately make a loss on the club for tax reasons.

    Realistic Expectations next season

Last year's promoted teams hold 3 of the bottom 4 places this year. From the year before, Rotherham went straight back down but Wigan and Blackburn are now top half mid-table, having finished bottom half mid-table during their first year back. The stats are against us. On the other hand, we...

    Transfer Rumour Marcel Hilsner

I was thinking about Kasta yesterday evening. It seems that it's attitude that's the issue to me - he came in all guns blazing and then his head dropped. One of two things could have happened over the break: 1) He gets his head straight and comes back determined to put it right. 2) He gives...
