What are you currently listening to?

One of the original shoegazing bands. I recently got into them too, alongside Slowdive. One criticism of Ride is that they couldn't decide what kind of band they wanted to be and seemed to follow trends - every album sounds different - changing to be like what was popular at the time.

Wish he'd had the confidence to put his boot through the ball and shoot when he was through on goal though. Otherwise I agree.

I only watched on a stream, which itself kept blanking out, so my opinion is not as good as others here. However I thought that DKE played very well, and that Doyle was excellent. I also think it's a possibility (and no more than that) that Duck was feigning injury due to petulance - simply...

Aliens have surveyed Earth - now proven beyond reasonable doubt

A couple of points, the first to: A few years back I read a theory that this Universe had been created by a black hole within another Universe. The idea was that the black hole had become so heavy that it had punctured the fabric of the other Universe and matter had flooded out to create this...

Possibly. But what a pessimistic viewpoint.

    Who could/should you have supported?

Born in Coventry. Brought up in Coventry. First game at Highfield Road. Taken to Highfield Road by my Dad whenever he could get free tickets from work for years between 1970-76. Started going to Highfield Road with friends from school from 1977. So by rights I should be a Man Utd fan.

Ghosts; out of body experiences; astrology; witchcraft; religion; aromatherapy; numerology; spirit guides; auto-writing; socialism; phrenology; fortune telling; faith healing; scientology; tarot cards... absolutely - all complete bollocks. But extra-terrestrial life is different. IMO.

Aliens have surveyed Earth - now proven beyond reasonable doubt

No worries re opinions not meeting - nobody knows do they? I'm interested in other dimensions. I don't buy the parallel universes stuff - seems to be fanciful to me; but I can imagine other dimensions that we cannot perceive which might explain why the Universe is accelerating - or indeed what...

Aliens have surveyed Earth - now proven beyond reasonable doubt

Extraterrestrial life of some description is a virtual certainty in my opinion, with or without this new report. Of all the planets in the Universe, given that we see life next to volcanic streams in the ocean and in the Arctic/Antarctic, there muse be one that could spawn microbes at the very...

Aliens have surveyed Earth - now proven beyond reasonable doubt

It's human nature to be competitive. Competition drives advancement and that sometimes leads to being divisive and petty. It's equally likely that another intelligent race might have exactly the same issues.

Aliens have surveyed Earth - now proven beyond reasonable doubt

There was an article in the Telegraph a week or so ago reporting on comments from a former head of a US government programme. Google shows me that it was also reported in other broadsheets. Existence of extra-terrestrial craft 'proved beyond reasonable doubt', says former Pentagon X-Files...

    Cryptocurrencies

Yes, businesses pay transaction fees (albeit usually within a package of 100 txns per month for £x). Individuals do not. I don't know if cryptocurrencies have txn fees but I'd bet even if they do not today they will have. Add to that the fx risk and money still wins. Where are you getting...

    Cryptocurrencies

I never invest in anything I don't understand and I don't understand the appeal of cryptrocurrencies. However, if I were to invest in them, it wouldn't be a bet on which one of them eventually succeeds. I'd buy a basket of many of them as a fund. But I wouldn't do that either at the moment as...

    Cryptocurrencies

Pretty much as I thought - still cannot see the point. Everyone can all already make real time secure transactions with no bank charges, and they can be micro (as small as 1 penny). And if it evades tax that's illegal. Bitcoin has fallen another 8% today. I think it's a double bull trap...
