I only really like strategy games. Risk or Diplomacy if you want to spend all the holidays playing a single game and to fall out with everyone. Catan is good. To be honest, I'd play bridge every day if my family were interested. Other than chess, cannot think of a better game.

No! :) I left ages ago and then came back a month or so ago when there was something new. I realised even then it was futile. It's a shame, because I would enjoy an intelligent debate about all sorts of issues but it seems to be impossible online - just lots of people writing their opinions...

I agree with Astute that this thread has become pretty pointless with entrenched opinions not swayed by new information; repetition and some bloody stupid things written (not pointing fingers at any one person). Just wanted to share that on the way back from the match last night we were...

He was so lucky to have directed the ball into the goal last night and similarly unlucky previously to have directed the ball past the goal on other occasions.

He did sound as if he wouldn't rule it out, but I don't think he said that exactly. More that he'd spoken to Baker about the kind of player he wanted and if he fits the bill he would consider it.

Just got back home. What a scrappy game. Personally, I didn't think that Wycombe looked like scoring all evening until they did - twice. Would love to see the 'four' penalties replayed - don't really feel that I was sighted enough to have an opinion on any of them. EDIT: Seen three of them...

ha ha. :) However not in this context, as "do my head in" is a commonly used verb with no subject expected. It would be odd, wouldn't it, if I restructured the sentence as "in which it does my head." :angelic:

I know as a fully paid-up member of the Grammar Police it's not a popular profession. However the incorrect use of the reflexive 'myself' (twice!) in this text does my head in. I get that many people don't understand how to use apostrophes with words ending in an 's' or how to decline the verb...

Great. That'll really help with our goal tally - could make all the difference at the end of the season.
