Match Thread Accrington Stanley - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Oct

He played there for Sheffield United. We need to get the best out of McNulty, techically he is one of our better players. Playing wide right will also take the pressure off from him in front of goal, where he's struggling.

Match Thread Accrington Stanley - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Oct

I think Andreu's injury was a big blow. Robins tried to play it down at the time but he possibly is a player at League 2 level with that little bit of creative spark we are missing. I don't think the strikers are to blame, we're just not creating enough. Doyle and Kelly look to be the same...

    Vincenti

Agree Stokes is playing nowhere near as well as he was before his injury. At fault for their second goal yesterday I thought. Hopefully he can regain his old form.

    Can we win the league?

If we get out of this league it will be precisely because Robins has decided that grinding out 1-0s is the way to go. You can't play great football with technically limited players-ask Tony Mowbray.

    6,951

6,851 for a Saturday home league game. We had an average home attendance for league games of 19,000 in the season SISU arrived.

    Thoughts on today

Doyle and Kelly look as if they do the same role to me and I think the midfield is too deep if they both play. If they are both going to play we need a target man up front. Worried about McNulty, as things stand I can't see where the goals will come from.

    Can anyone name

And can anyone name the Burnley player? He had a spell as manager of Wales.

Pre Season Gallery / Greg Moorhouse on Trial

Correct, based in Lurgan in NI. Jon Tuffey (ex City reserves) was in goal for them last season.

    Bigi joins Motherwell

Never rated Bigi I'm afraid. He can make 10 yard sideways passes deep in our own half but for me that's about it.

    Great City left backs

Paul Edwards, he came from Crewe Alexandra. He looked a bit like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Shaggy was probably a better defender...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

This is good news. Hoffman has some backers with some serious cash behind them.

Will SISU still be in control next season

SISU will go when they are prepared to crystallise their losses in CCFC and effectively admit defeat. No new owner will give them back anything near the money they have lost in CCFC. Joy Sepalla will not admit defeat and walk away and why would she if the club can break even going forward. Tim...

    Who's left ?

Of the the above I would only try and keep Burge, George Thomas, Clarke, Willis, Stevenson, Harries and Jones. I think Turnbull is missed off the list above and is under contract under 2018 and like Beavon I'm not too fussed whether Beavon and Turnbull go or stay. Anyone who thinks we should...

The Good Business Sense of SISU

If you want to strike out as a pioneer go and buy a season ticket at Coventry United next season. It's what Jimmy Hill would have done in these circumstances.

    Mark Robins

He'll be managing Rotherham by Christmas.

So lets start the book now

Haynes can't defend and can't play in midfield either

So lets start the book now

Agreed, Jones will come good, as he has pace. I thought Robins made a mistake yesterday taking him off as his pace and direct running was forcing Charlton deep. After Jones was taken off Charlton got higher up the field and dominated possession.

    Bigi

OK then the whole squad is mentally weak. Give a take one or two I genuinely that to be the case.
