    Lincoln

Sorry if I am being a bit slow on the uptake...are you a Lincoln fan on here to give help, or a CCFC fan who lives in Lincoln?

Andy Turner's 1/3rd of the season school report

It tells you a lot about the lack of anything interesting that the CT has to do a "third of the season" rather than "half term" report, just padding so that they have something to write. Who has ever heard of a "1/3 term report"???

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Comments above. You have always seemed to me from your posting history as a decent bloke but you don't have a leg to stand on, on this one.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

I'd have refused a renegotiation after 3 months of a 50 year lease, too quite rightly. However, when the club stopped paying the rent in 2012, there is no question that the council could have entertained rent negotiations, as it was clear the club was failing (all its own fault). But Timmy just...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

The only one making assertions is you. I have explained my point of view. All you've done is throw around accusations. You didn't address any of the points I made.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

I could repeat my post above but there's no point if you didn't understand it first time. The definition of state aid is offering private entities (CCFC) more favourable terms than any available from the commercial / private sector. No bank or financial institution would touch us given the...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

It really wasn't, Stu. No private investor would have touched such terms, which actually shows how soft/lenient the offer from the council was. Even now I'm not sure how it wasn't defined as illegal state aid. In any case, that level of rent wasn't dreamed up. It was set at that level to cover...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

The council got all the money back from the Wasps deal.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Considering that no private backer would touch the bailout of the Ricoh project, £1m payback over 50 years was very reasonable. It was the club who rejected the option of having the rent vary according to the division in which CCFC played, expecting of course to be back in the Premier League...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

By definition it must have been valid, as SISU had to go to the lengths of putting the club into liquidation to be able to wriggle out of their obligations under the lease.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Yes. There was no duress, it was a fair agreement then and the club entered into it willingly.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

So what do you think the answer to my question to you and Esoterica is? Do you think the Wasps/CCC agreement stipulates that Wasps have to allow CCFC to be tenants unconditionally? I work in contracts / paralegal and I can tell you that any such agreement would normally contain some conditions...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Correct me if I am wrong but, by your logic, SISU could say they'll pay £1 per year and no more for their tenancy, and if Wasps say no then Wasps are breaking the terms? If the above is right then clearly the agreement itself isn't reasonable. If the above is wrong then that calls into...

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

I support hedge funds buying distressed businesses wherever they may be, that's business. But what I don't support is SISU trying to bankrupt Wasps, or, for that matter, reneging on the obligations of a perfectly valid lease then putting the club into administration to avoid a winding up...

Andy Turner's 1/3rd of the season school report

That was my view too. In fact, I was going to start a thread discussing at what point it would be fair to give LOB a run in the team again.

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

She made that statement before SISU tried to bankrupt Wasps through spurious legal action. Any reasonable person would agree that CCFC being allowed to stay at the Ricoh would be conditional on CCFC/SISU behaving reasonably, which they have demonstrably not done. Wasps aren't obliged to provide...

    Stevenage Away

I'm going and have been to this ground a couple of times before. It is definitely walkable from the train station, just leave yourself 15-20 mins to get there. It's signed with blue pediestrian walkway signposts.

    Butts Park ruled out

Was always a non starter IMO. Personally i think this is great news, I'd love to see us commit to the Ricoh in the long term, even as mere tenants. It is a class venue that proclaims to the world that we are a big club in waiting/exile, not another L2 outfit.
