    Project Big Picture...

It's encouraging that a number of the more mainstream outlets and pundits seem to be publicly speaking up against it... i heard both Micah Richards and Chris Sutton (both usually spout drivel on all subjects) giving it a real slating last night on the Radio. It's usually rare to hear pundits...

    Project Big Picture...

Yes that's a disgraceful statement from the EFL... all they're seeing is pound signs.

    International break

Not so sure its worked. Is anyone that "into" the Nations League, beyond the media who want the viewing figures. They are simply friendlies with a new name. And why are we still playing "pointless" friendlies too? I'm not buying it...

    International break

The Nations League is a poor attempt at making friendlies out to be more than they actually are.... i think interest for this Nations league is less than the last one. And we are still getting pointless friendlies (Wales) in addition...!!

    Fresh Ricoh talks

Looks like you're correct there. I recall the Brighton match, with the late Staunton winner. A look back through and i can recall the Forest 2-0. Can't recall the Wolves game on the 16th April for some reason (possibly being my birthday and associated intake of drinks beforehand!) Not...

    Fresh Ricoh talks

From what i remember of that season, it was pretty dire... we pulled it out the bag in the final couple of home games... Staunton scored right at the end against either Brighton/Forest i think, and then the big final day win.

    Fresh Ricoh talks

We were on a huge downwards trend in 2007... i think it was inevitable we would follow the likes of Leicester, Leeds, QPR, Portsmouth, and even Man City, and fall into the 3rd division. So i'm not personally "holding SISU responsible" for us ending up down there. Whether we'd have fell into...

    Running

Draycote Water is a good one for those of us in the Cov/Warks/Rugby areas. Nice path all the way round, Just under 4.5 miles round (if i remember correctly). Quite popular though. On a warm sunny sunday morning there will be tens and tens of people running round. Probably a little quieter now...

    Fresh Ricoh talks

Yeah to be fair to Peaches&Cream, it is good to have a reasonable view from the Wasps side of the fence on here. *That is by absolutely no means me agreeing that they should be here, or that i wouldn't want them gone at the first opportunity. It would be ridiculous to claim that CCFC are not...

    Fresh Ricoh talks

I had always thought along the lines of "sod Wasps, sod the Ricoh, let's stay at Birmingham" But to be honest, if Wasps' future is as bleak as made out to be, then a couple of million extra revenue a year from us won't save them, so we might as well get back there (if we can)

    Fresh Ricoh talks

Building a new ground, and agreeing a rental deal at the Ricoh, don't have to be mutually exclusive. Chances of either or both happening are of course an entirely different debate.

    Fresh Ricoh talks

I suppose there's potential that the council have twisted Wasps arm a little. With Wasps future appearing to look bleak, and some potential possibility of CCFC building a new ground. If anyone was to see a benefit to us being back at the Ricoh, it's probably the council from a PR point of view.

    Running

Ran a 10km track session yesterday on a grey, damp and windy morning at Pingles... now that the rush of facilities being open has subsided, most track competition now over for the year, and the weather deteriorating, i had the track to myself. 40:59.... not race pace by any stretch, but was...

Just had a strange phone call

50pts should be enough this year. In fact I think in one of the seasons out of the past couple, a point per game (46) was enough (I may be incorrect but I can't be arsed to check)

Just had a strange phone call

@Grendel out of interest, at the start of the season, how many points would you have expected us to have after the opening 4 games? For me, i'd have said Bristol and Bournemouth: losses Barnsley: win QPR: who knows So for me, 4 is pretty much "par" so far.

    New ricoh tenant

The Canal Basin office is/was indeed up for lease. My understanding is all telegraph staff are currently working from home/remotely for an indefinite period due to the Covid. I did ask about the implications for losing the Canal Basin office etc, but i honestly can't remember what i was told...

    Running

Club session tonight. 8 x half mile road reps. Managed to knock them consistently out at approx 5:40/mile pace, give or take a couple of seconds either way... Encouraging, as this time last year I'd be struggling to hold that pace on fresh legs, and did it today with relative ease on quite...

    Four years ago today...

Whilst i don't necessarily agree with the stance that some of our fans take that "we are the most hard-done-by fans ever to grace football"... it has been a pretty bleak decade and a half. I was the guy involved in the "handbags" on top of "Jimmy's Hill" at Sixfields after the Brentford(?)...

To be honest, November looks equally nasty.

    Wycombe

It does look bleak for Wycombe.... But given that we are not even 1/15th into the season we should probably hold our tongues before writing others off. We could just as likely end up adrift in the bottom three, as be in a playoff battle (admittedly both would be unlikely).
