    Best Guitar Solo

Personal favourites are "Superwoman" from Stevie Wonder's "Music of my mind" album "Angela" (Theme from Taxi) Bob James "Waiting in vain" Bob Marley. Incidentally none are played by the actual artists themselves.

    Dirty Leeds Ratings

Reminds me of the joke about the dyslexic, agnostic insomniac who was awake all night wondering if there really is a Dog.

Match Thread Coventry City - Southampton Match Thread - Wednesday 13th Dec

Those were the days. Straight to the Memorial Park from Wigan Casino, a couple of pints in the Jules Verne afterwards, Sunday lunch at home and then fall into a deep sleep almost equivalent to a coma and then back down the pub Sunday night. In bed by eleven these days...

Pop stars that look like they shouldn't be pop stars and seem more suited to another profession

Match Thread Coventry City - West Bromwich Albion Match Thread - Monday 30th Oct

I believe a Hamer understudy should have been brought in twelve months ago with an eye to the future. Not providing cover for one of the most influential and integral members of a team is very short sighted.

Match Thread Coventry City - West Bromwich Albion Match Thread - Monday 30th Oct

I agree to a point, but to get in a good corner with whip and pace is altogether something else. I'm surprised that van Ewijk isn't taking any after that goal from the free kick a few weeks ago. (In reply to Warwickshire Lad's post).

No offence Pete but your comment is written like one of those poems I was supposed to understand in English literature at school..

    Beckham

I was at that game with my son (2000), we flew over for his tenth birthday and I distinctly remember Beckham's cross while running at full pelt for Andy Cole to score. He was outstanding that day.

    Rugby World Cup 2023

I was football mad but ended up going to a school in Coventry which only played rugby or hockey. I had this preconceived idea that I would hate the game but ended up absolutely loving it. At about fifteen I used to play for the school on Saturdays and local Sunday league football and when I left...

Drilling through a UPVC window frame

Maybe drill at a slight downwards angle from inside to outside which along with Tony's advice will help to stop water coming in through the frame

    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

Wright was offside a couple of times last night even after he'd been substituted for Simms according to Clive and yes, I think Van Ewijk is going to be some player.. Enviado desde mi moto g(9) plus mediante Tapatalk

    Championship thread 23/24

Yes, I remember we always referred to the game as soccer back in the sixties and possibly into the seventies without fear of admonishment. I find it strange how much it upsets people given all the American lingo that has established itself into our language when it is word originally belonging...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

We looked very stretched in the second half allowing them far too much space coming forward. Whether that's down to fitness or something else but I'm sure we played with a higher press last season. Enviado desde mi moto g(9) plus mediante Tapatalk

    Women's World Cup 2023

You may well be right Clint. There are some conflicting reports here in Spain some saying it was "una muerte repentina" which means sudden death and others stating that he had been diagnosed with cancer twelve months ago. Enviado desde mi moto g(9) plus mediante Tapatalk

    Transfer Rumour David Brekalo

I remember a conversation once in the showers after a 7 a side league game here in Mallorca when somebody said "if you had to fcuk a bloke, who would you choose"?. We had an ex Scottish pro playing for us who had no hesitation in saying " Mel Gibson in Braveheart". Still makes me chuckle...

    Women's World Cup 2023

It's a bit morbid talking about these things but I just read that it was a sudden death and not anticipated which brings a little more weight to the family's decision. Enviado desde mi moto g(9) plus mediante Tapatalk

    Women's World Cup 2023

Families are extremely tightly knitted here in Spain and relationships between fathers and daughters particularly so and on that basis I think that most would have made the same decision in delaying the awful news. Not saying it's either right or wrong, simply the way it is. Enviado desde mi...
