Standard 433 I agree. If we had bothered to give it some thought, we could have brought in a left sided CM and reverted to a 442 defensively, meaning Wright could stay high. Think from memory we tried this against someone with Allen covering LM in defence. It worked ok.

If they’re getting mixed messages from the coaches then surely Robins as head coach gets the rest of the staff in a room and explains exactly what he wants to see. I do think the change in coaching structure is having an impact but is being overblown, especially given it’s a controllable.

Big part of the issue as I see it is our players not moving off the ball (although he’s equally as guilty when others have the ball). When we get pressed aggressively, you want an attacker to make a yard of space to play it early. We don’t do anywhere near enough of that this season.

Throw ins are massively overvalued by fans. Aim should pretty much exclusively be ball retention. If you have to throw it backwards 20-30 yards then so be it. Also dislike having designated throw in takers. Just do whoever is closest and get the ball back in play as quickly as possible.
