Think we both banged this gong on here at the time. BYU had a rubbish schedule (due to COVID) & a strong O line. Played one decent defense and they mullered him (coastal carolina)

Yep I preferred Stroud. More rounded. For me Young was a case of he's a "winning QB in the SEC" so he must be good. Also fell away from 2022 when he had Williams & Metchie as his WRs to not having much WR help in 2023. I'm still not a huge fan of smaller QBs as a rule.

Simms took a dive for me when he had Zac Wilson ahead of Trevor Lawrence. Doesn't he also have Nix & Pennix ahead of Maye & JJ this year?

I'm curious about Daniels. Throwing to 2 1st round picks at LSU in an aggressive offense. Got a high ceiling but Commanders are going to have to protect him and give a chance to ease his way in.

Have they added pieces to O line in the offseason? Last year it wasn't good. Rookie QB you need a good left Tackle at least.

Lot of decent receivers in this class but the genuine No 1 receivers have probably gone. Wouldn't be surprised if they get some O line help to try & stop their new QB getting killed. Think Maye is going into a difficult situation there and hope the Pats take their time in ironing out his creases...

Falcons aside no real shocks or fallers in Round one. Teams picked for need. Round 2 & 3 a lot defensive talent to come off the board.

Bears loaded now since Poles cleaned house. But as with all drafted QBs there's still a "wait and see" on Williams.

Falcons just paid Cousins a fortune for next few years.then use the 8th pick for a QB (who was probably only worth a 2nd round pick) who will sit for at least 2 years Didn't tell Kirk they were doing it either. Kirk does get precious at times. Falcons lucky to be picking at 8 anyway...

Not starting for at least 2 years due to Cousins's contract. You've got 2 drafts to find a replacement. Must have had calls from Vikings, Raiders & Broncos. Plus Kirk won't be happy. Broncos showed desperation with Nix. First time that 5 QBs taken in top 10. Really happy with Kwesi getting...

So the Falcons provide the first WTF moment of the draft.

Always the same. QBs pick up steam because teams at the top of the draft normally need a QB. Odds are at least 2 of top 4 won't pan out. REcent first round QB picks inc Fields, Wilson, Pickett, Lance, Mac Jones have all been moved on. Bryce Young gets a pass because that Panthers team gave him...

someone panics and takes Nix or Pennix in the 1st round. Not sure about JJ to the Pats - they've nothing to put around him and not sure he's good enough to lift that offense on his own. Williams is probably the only QB ready to start right away. All the others ideally need a little time to iron...

Finally the draft is here. Hope Vikings have a plan / deal to get the QB situation sorted.

    Instant success the Brentford Way.

Foundations are firmly in place. Keep this squad together with a few tweaks. It's been a season of "ifs and buts". Lost too much time / too many points in first half of the season - didn't get going until end of November. Maybe a bit too much rotation at times - only a couple of players have...

surprisingly dead wicket for the time of year - not as if the Durham attack isn't a decent one.

    Ellis simms - level headed

Maybe I'm old school but i think if he just added a bit of nasty (not foul play just roughing up people in challenges) to his game he'd really dominate centre-halves. Some of us older lot have compared him to Mick Ferguson - he loved a challenge.

    FA Cup Semi Final Draw

I'll take Utd - team most likely to be overconfident and then shoot itself in the foot. Don't play a high line in defense and they don't seem half as effective

Aren't the PL fed up with ballboy antics and talking about fining clubs for the "unsportsmanlike" antics of some PL club ballboys?

Hungarian wife and daughter still can't understand (after 20 something years) why it's so emotional, how a middle-aged man gets so excitable about a football match and how nothing compares to a last minute winner away from home.
