    Summer transfer window 2024

Hard to believe your views on the moon landing might actually be more rational than your football ones but here we are

    Transfer Rumour Viktor Johansson

Well yes, in the same way that crosses which are fast and accurate are good, whereas ones that are slow and don’t go anywhere near your own players are bad. There’s nothing inherently wrong with keepers playing it short, and most keepers these days do.

There are plenty of teams whose keepers play it short even more often than we do. Most teams are going long less than a third of the time. It’s basically the standard way of playing in this division now.

    SBT slow at 10pm

Clearly hasn’t read my posts, me being slow is not limited to any particular time of day

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

So if we stop illegal immigrants for two years, we can build a police station every day?

    Norwich

I think it’s more about Robins’ appeal to Norwich, rather than the other way round - teams seem completely unable to resist the idea of hiring their former players as managers sometimes. I don’t think he’d be in the conversation for them otherwise. On paper it would be a good move for him but I...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s not hundreds of thousands We don’t house or “pay for” all of them anyway Not sure why we need a new police station every day Other than that…

    Transfer Rumour Viktor Johansson

There’s also the thing of him occasionally choosing to drop the ball directly at the feet of the other team’s striker with an open goal.

Alternatively - shows that a good keeper means fuck all if you can’t compete on the rest of the pitch.

He cost them more than £5 million to buy, from a club who paid about double that to sign him in the first place.

    Lucy Letby

It’s a quote from a UK government inquiry. I mean, I’m not here to personally defend every individual paragraph of the story on the writer’s behalf. But if you want to play a game of sensationalism tennis between this article and the British coverage of the case so far, I’m sure I could keep...

Don’t agree personally. The New Yorker is not exactly renowned for sensationalism. But if you’d rather go with what’s been reported in the British press…

Which random US medics are you referring to? The journalist who wrote the piece hasn’t posted on Twitter in almost a year. Are you sure you’ve read the right article?

    VAR needs an overhaul

Desperately hope the clubs vote to do the right thing (lol) but would feel extra grim knowing our cup semifinal moment was taken away because of what turned out to only be a temporary insane blip in football history.

    Champions League 23/24

Of course, but the margins are nevertheless fine - the last three finals have been decided on penalties. We were a couple of penalty kicks away from there being more Scottish winners than German ones over the past 30 years.

    Champions League 23/24

Possibly? I wouldn’t have backed them to beat Liverpool at Anfield either. I just don’t think performance in knockout tournaments tells the whole story about a particular club, or particular league’s strength - I’d have thought all Coventry fans would be acutely aware of that this year! But...

    Champions League 23/24

As I say - I don’t value the Europa League in the same way, and the qualification rules mean it’s not always apples to apples. If people agree that winning the Europa League is an undeniable barometer of a league’s superiority then it’s very hard to argue with you though.
