Why are we obsessed with his role in a first 11. What happens if Wright is injured or Sakamoto? He can play on both flanks and through the middle. A very useful addition. The form will come - he’s good enough.
I think this year we made a mistake. We had new coaches and a few new players and at the first international break the squad went on holiday. That should have been time on the training pitch.
I wouldn’t be starting Rudoni at LWB. It’s not a long term thing for me. I’d go back to a flat back four. Sheafs return to fitness means the old system can work. Front three of Wright, Simms, Saka with Rudoni in behind.
It’s obvious we concede too many. A lot are terrible goals. I’m not sure it’s purely experience we lack but we could certainly do with some. Five at the back certainly doesn’t make us any more secure. I’d switch straight back to a flat back four.
Binks is not a good defender. Therefore I don’t really care if he carries the ball well. You have to do a lot of that to compensate for silly goals you are conceding. Their second goal yesterday was Binks in a nutshell for me.
Calling for change is often just pure frustration isn’t it? It never really works. We are a case in point. All of our best periods have been stable ones.
Nail on head. We’ve lacked a bit of cohesion going forward but have generally looked like scoring. Whereas at the other end we concede far too many goals. Easy goals. That may well be where we need some help in January.
