Match Thread Middlesbrough vs Coventry City Play off Semi final 2nd leg Match Thread - Wednesday 17th May

I was weirdly calm on Sunday, but just about to set off for game and heart is pounding already. This is about as big as it gets.

Luton really were excellent. Fully expected Sunderland to pepper them second half but didn't lay a glove on Luton.

    Match Thread Luton v Sunderland

They look to win 2nd balls high up the pitch and force errors. Much more effective at doing that on this small pitch than at Wembley. Tried it at SOL but ran out of steam. Would much rather play them.

Can't help but feel there is a twist in this game.

Well close to fuck all has happened the last 4 times we've played them, so yeah.

    Match Thread Luton v Sunderland

There will be none of that stuff at the final if we were both to make it, not around Wembley anyway. Big occasion like that it doesn't really happen. They police the games well down there and if they can handle United and City they can handle Cov - Sunderland. Would be a great occasion and kids...

Where are you watching Wednesday night?

This is a big change in tone. CBS twitter account talking about 'our boys'. Up until very recently they would barely ever mention us.

Going to be a very difficult task without Hamer (if true). Not going to be alarmist and write us off, but that would be a huge blow.

    Season Tickets!!!

Well it's much harder to make a case for it with the £480 season tickets clearly. I'm saying lump on, but I'm probably over-egging it tbh, especially if you take the long term view. I also don't gamble any more so I won't be doing it! In simply terms though, a £250 bet in the final might make...

Loving the fact we're being written off. The more of this the better.

    Season Tickets!!!

If you did this now, without checking the odds, I imagine laying City for promotion you'd win around £100 from a £500 bet, so wouldn't quite be worth it yet. For those that have already bought the PL package, and should we win Wednesday, them it's a no brainer, lump on the opposition to progress.

    Block 11 and 12

Premier league and there is a proper solution put in place you feel. Stand is split in two. Easily achieved. No club in the PL offers an away allocation of over 3K. I'd hate to be the first.

How the stadium sounded from tesco yesterday

Hopefully it won't happen, just pure speculation tbh. Will probably go on sale tomorrow!

Be interesting to see the effect the crowd has. It will be rocking in there, CBS aside, it's the noisiest ground in the league and under lights for a game like this they will be proper up for it. Could work in our favour. Massive expectancy and with that, pressure. Could really suit the way we...

How the stadium sounded from tesco yesterday

I'm guessing they are waiting, suggesting to me that if we're promoted they'll scrap the published pricing and put prices up. Will go down like a lead balloon that. Can't think of any other reason for waiting for the outcome of the playoffs. If that's not the plan, then surely just get them on...

    Season Tickets!!!

Nobody is getting in a flap and nobody is moaning. If they are going to wait until June, that's pretty late, people are suggesting it might be an idea to put them on sale while there is all this positive noise. That's not moaning.

How the stadium sounded from tesco yesterday

Need to get season tickets on sale, not sure what they are waiting for. At this rate it'll be June before they are available, when people start to disengage from football and attention turns to holiday budgets. Really missing an opportunity.

    Trouble at the game!

My young lad got an earful yesterday as he walked past a steward who insisted he checked his card before he went through the turnstile. Did he think he was going to sneak in on an adult's ticket? No big deal, but not much common sense on show.
