If it resumes April 4th (doubtful, but assume it does), we're straight into a run of fixtures that includes Peterborough, Gillingham away and Oxford. Ouch.

While I'm more than happy for CCFC to keep what money they have from me, I am kind of hoping I get the £100 I spent on Accrington tickets back. Along with the £600 I've spent on tickets for the Euros. Being self-employed and having had 2 jobs already cancel, it looks like I'm royally screwed...

So our next game, in the best case scenario, will now be Peterborough at home, unless they re-shuffle the fixtures. This is before the suggested peak though, so I expect they'll be a further delay.

This is interesting. That there are PL clubs calling for this stinks of self-interest to me:

I thought L type was more prevalent, but there is no evidence that it has a higher CFR than S type, but it is easier to transmit. I might be wrong though.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek to be fair. Piers Morgan is very hard to avoid on Twitter, whether you follow him or not, and he is becoming completely unhinged on the issue.

Are people really going to politicise a stock scientific term like 'herd immunity' and start likening it to social engineering? On mutations, I read something the other day that said one new variant had emerged 'L type' I think, from the ancestral 'S type', but it also suggested the virus...

Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance vs Jeremy Hunt and Piers Morgan. It's not much of a choice tbf.

It'll be cash-flow more than anything. 8-12 weeks with no income, and clubs also rely on season ticket revenue for the following season around now. There are clearly ways around this though and the authorities should make it as easy as possible for clubs to borrow money during this period.

This could be the end for a number of lower league clubs (from a cash-flow perspective as much as anything), unless the PL step-in and assist, but little chance of that I think.

This big question is 'when'. From what we are advised, this would likely be the end of April - and even that's no guarantee. This would push the season into the summer (assuming the Euros are cancelled). This would then seriously delay the start of next season, which would also be a problem...

I'd like to think the EFL have something in the small print that covers this kind of scenario, but if they have I think we'd know about it by now. Could get very messy this.

Exactly the point people are missing. If the EFL go against government advice now, I cannot see how the season can be completed. It then becomes a straight choice between write-off the whole season or finish it now based on leagues postion/ppg. Either way, let the legal action begin.

Taking this back to football for a minute. My take from yesterday was that the peak is many weeks away. Therefore, if we cancel fixtures tomorrow - it's not as though we can suddenly starting playing again in two weeks. Same with closing schools etc. If we go this way now, we'd have to...

Well, it has nothing to do with Bulldog Spirit to acknowledge that some of the world's leading virologists are based here. Anyway, the key difference it seems is that our scientists are also referencing the behavioural science, saying that as we are up to 14 weeks away from the peak - imposing...

But they are not. What they are saying is that large gatherings, closing schools etc. will have a negligible effect on the rate of spread (I defer to their knowledge which will be based on modelling that I cannot possibly have an informed view on). The best weapon we have is early...

As I saw somebody say yesterday, people only appear to like experts if they confirm what they think they already know. The reasoning for the government's position was laid out quite clearly. It is not a do nothing policy at all. It's about timing and flattening the peak.
