    Fraud inaction

My wife had similar several years ago but in this case we saw it very quickly and were informed of some big money purchases being made to an address in London. The police did contact us and when I asked whether they would be waiting for the delivery to catch the fraudsters, they said probably...

    Fraud inaction

when you think about it, we hand over card numbers, 3 digit security code, expiry dates and addresses all the time. I assumed it was usually encrypted online but smaller businesses often take payments over the phone, emailed forms etc so visible to any lowlife given an opportunity.

    Fraud inaction

Here's a puzzling one for me. Recently had my credit card hacked (narrowed it down to an Amazon online purchase). Purchases by the fraudster were declined fortunately. The fraudster also did a debit/credit verification using my card details to open an account with Curve (some kind of debit...

    Man beheaded in Paris

I thought education was about teaching children to think for themselves. I personally think they should have stayed in the class.

    Man beheaded in Paris

Don't agree with this at all. There are plenty of cultural practices and beliefs that deserve no respect and have no place in a modern civilized society.

    Man beheaded in Paris

Yes agree, and of course any reasonable Christian will cherry-pick the bible to suit modern day morality. Take a look at Sam Harris pointing out the immorality and inconvenient truths in the bible to that darling of the Trumpian right-wing and intellectual lightweight Ben Shapiro.

    What price freedom?

Hatton Garden heist criminal can serve ten years and be out aged 69 if he coughs up his missing 6 million quid or keep schtum and serve an extra 7 years and be out at age 76 but considerably richer. Bit of a dilemma at that kind of age.

Spitting Image starting again soon. Difficult to see how they are going to poke fun at the ridiculousness of Trump and Boris. They are beyond satire.

    Home advantage

Be interesting to see the stats regarding any change In this. Do home crowds make a difference - we have an enforced experiment In which these variables could be teased out. Is it simply about the ground or the support? I’ve always wondered why a professional sportsman can’t perform to their...

    Right wing jokes

As someone who has loved unashamedly left-wing comedians such as the late great Jeremy Hardy and Linda Smith I can also say I'm enjoying some of the so called 'right-wing' comedy featured on the Comedy Unleashed channel. I suppose I find political extremes amusing and most of this comedy is...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Hancock being economical with the truth re the 6.4 miles as the average distance travelled for the Covid test. He’s used the median to avoid the skewing upwards of those folk who may have travelled long distances but more crucially the stat doesn’t include people who were offered the tests...
