Surprised nobody has yet mentioned the late great Ernie Hunt.

    Shagger's XI - Take the p***y

Les Sealey was known as a bit of a shagger back in the day. He apparently was engaged to three different women at the same time during his time at City. Back in the 70s there were a couple of real slappers who used to throw themselves at some of the players at away games. Most of the team...

Physio Room XI - take no patients

Chris Chilton. Proven striker, big money signing. Did his back getting out of his car. Bryan King. Another one who had had a good career and looked like a great signing. Some disastrous performances, notably a 5-0 at Arsenal. Then another bad back merchant.

    U23 v Millwall today

True. It's like watching a game at the Memorial Park.

Last time we top of Division 3.

It was indeed. I remember going on the Red House coach and it taking forever driving through London. The game was an evening kick-off as it was FA Cup 6th round day and also Grand National day. There was a sweepstake on the coach, it was Foinavon's winning year at 100-1. City had to change...

    When was the last time

I've checked this and we were indeed top of the old Division 2 on 1st March 1967. We played West Ham in a friendly on Friday 3rd March 1967 and the programme has a league table in it. We had 43 points from 31 games while Wolves had 39 from 30. Blackburn were 3rd on 37, Huddersfield 4th on 36.

    Sunderland fans crying "again"

There is so much crap written about that 1977 game, obviously much of it from Sunderland idiots who weren't there. I've just read that they claim that 'on that afternoon' (FFS!) Bristol City and us wasted a full 15 minutes knocking the ball around. In fact it was around 6 minutes, during...

    Coventry U23 v Bristol City U23 today

My mate who attended the game suggested that Kastaneer was a few pounds above his optimum racing weight!

    Referee For Sat

We are in the third tier, a consequence of which is that we get third tier referees. Unfortunately the majority at this level are decidedly third rate too. They are struggling to replace some of the ones retiring at top level because the up and coming group are so weak. The situation is...

    Cwr

First interview I've seen with him for a while. The first impression was how much he's aged and how ill he looks. Maybe his constant rants are having a serious effect on his health, he looks ready to keel over.

    Bolton Latest Announcement

It is an appalling situation for both clubs and I'm sure several others must be in serious trouble too. It is disgraceful that there is so much money sloshing around at the top of the pyramid, yet a couple of steps down so many are struggling. It really doesn't say much for the EFL that this...

    Worst ever signing?

A few have mentioned Gary Collier. Yes, he was rubbish and cost a fortune. But....we offloaded him to somewhere like Portland Timbers and actually made a profit on him somehow. I think the player we also signed for big money at that time was even worse, and played very few games. Step...

    'Champions' League Final.

I have no interest in the match at all. I don't care who wins. As long as Liverpool lose!!

    Tony Gillan Sunderland Echo

This is exactly the point. Imagine that Sunderland had scored the 9th goal of the game to win it. There would have been a bit of crowing about JH from their knuckledraggers, then everybody would have moved on. After all, it was a third division game. Instead, we have seen Sunderland for what...

    Highfield Rd

I used to stand at the wall in the Covered End (as it was then) from 1963. Then when the West Stand was built I got a season ticket in the 4th row right behind the goal, which I had every season until we left HR. I used to love it there, especially for night matches.

    Flask ban at the Ricoh

It is ridiculous to prevent people taking their own drinks into a stadium. To stop people taking water in is beyond madness. There should be water stations available in the stadium anyway. I remember we took small (250ml) bottles of pop into Wembley and the guy doing the searches said it was...

    Groundshare back on

The problem for SISU is that, whether we like it or not, Wasps hold all the cards. It is their ground now. We may not like that either, but SISU had their chance to buy it and chose not to. I have always thought that, ever since, they have been repenting at leisure. I am no love of Wasps, or...

    Groundshare back on

Of course the owners will talk. It just needs SISU to drop their ludicrous legal action which we all know is unwinnable anyway. Most City fans I know regard Wasps' stance as perfectly reasonable, in that why should they negotiate with someone who is trying to distress them as a company?
