Starting XI and subs - now we've seen everyone play?

Ah come on, Baker and Edge have to start! Edge looks far more convincing than Malaga and against greater opposition. Can't drop Baker after that performance as well, he's had two great games in a few days and hopefully has set the tone for his season!

Yeah, I'm sorry, that is true. Well in that case may as well go for it then eh!

    Carl Baker. Wow.

I don't suppose you know what Jennings was awarded then, because he was also answering post match questions and awarded a man of the match in one of the lounges after the game (I only went there because my old man had a box for the night and he was my lift home!).

    my favourite "new boy".

Jennings for me as well, but I think Elliot and Barton will also be brilliant at this level! I went to the post match MOTM presentation in the behind the scenes bit and it actually went to Jennings last night. Slightly surprising, but he was quick to mention that he felt as though he still...

    The Cark Baker Show

I never like the 'bar that' argument. If he hadn't have done that then he was still good in the first half, went on some good runs, and was always a huge threat to the birmingham defence. Unbarring that, it was an eye-catching first half display from the lad!

    Marlon king

he didn't play well tonight, but his touch for their second goal was sublime, regardless of what anyone says

    Edge - the unit

Clever player as well, streetwise if you like. Knew when to give King a dig and the right times to give his shirt a tug.

Who would you play for crewe ??

Murphy Christie (assume Clarke isn't fit) Edge Wood Hussey Jennings Barton Kilbane Baker Elliot McDonald No one needs resting at this stage of the season. Though I did think Barton looked a bit tired tonight, consider starting with McSheffrey in their ahead of him.

    Edge - the unit

It was cramp and we wouldn't have taken him off as we'd used our 3 subs! Was superb, deserves to start saturday. Looks far more convincing than Malaga, and him and Wood could be excellent together. Good to see Christie back too, looks a lot more comfortable at RB than Brown has been in recent...

    Carl Baker. Wow.

I agree, I think at 60/70 minutes Elliot was my MOTM, but the final 20 minutes and extra time was all about Baker. Nevertheless, Elliot was superb, never stopped running and you're absolutely right, has a lot more pace then I'd realised. It's just his class on the ball that surprised me most...

    Burton Albion

To be honest mate, I'd rather a good cup run in the League Cup, which is mildly respected. A day at Wembley would be nice, but the JPT should be for the younger players and if we do well then fantastic, but if not then I'm not too bothered.

    The Cark Baker Show

His assist for the second goal was quality, great skill to beat two defenders in a tight situation. Incredibly harsh to criticise after a performance like that.

    Great game

I think the atmosphere was a bit better, and the quality of opposition forced us to raise our game. Some players in the side have been coasting a little up until now, and tonight they proved they can perform at a higher level.

    Burton Albion

Well it's JPT isn't it? So either way I'm not overly worried. Hoping we field our younger players for that one

    Carl Baker. Wow.

I know he's been accredited in other threads, but my god. What a performance! Literally ran rings around Brum tonight. His finest hour (or 2) in football I'm sure! Against Sheff Utd I was very critical, against Bury he was good, but tonight he was the player that we were promised when we...

    3-5-2

Would drop Kilbane, he's been a passenger in our midfield in the opening three games, looks like he may prove to be another Tim Sherwood!

I'm not suggesting he's an awful manager, I just don't think he's the right man for the job. Leicester, Norwich, Southampton and Leeds (Pearson, Lambert, Adkins and Grayson). These are the sort of managers we should be looking at, previously, successfully, managed at lower league and all have...

Nope, I was told I was incorrect on a previous post, and I'm just proving that what I said was not incorrect (That Poyet was heavily influential in Leeds' success and when he left for Spurs their good form and season gradually fell apart). I also said Boothroyd and Coleman were each successful...

Grendel, when someone points out your argument is flawed, do you just try and protect your ego by ignoring it?

sacking AT is a terrible decision

There's actually been a lot of criticism of the sacking, I for one think it's an unfair decision.
