'Jimmy's Hill' protests having the desired effect!

You're right, it's extremely naive for people to think that SISU's investors don't follow exactly what is going on with CCFC. The sums of money these people plow in are huge. They won't all be individuals either, some will be institutional investors. I work for an Investment Bank, and...

Ha, it's over a month away - it's tonnes of time! I'll ask your Wife / Girlfriend if you can go if you're worried

Not bad. Only thing is with Northampton having that huge hill, we have a unique opportunity to be all over Sky, without setting foot in the place. Totally peaceful so that the press won't dismiss us as yobs.

I agree. This must be peaceful in order to retain credibility and keep the public onside.

We can use this one for that. Then, when we've agreed I'm right we can move on to organising it

Brilliant post!!! This forum is the best place to get ideas going. We should create a sticky thread with ideas for the protest (not to be used to argue for or against it). I'm mailing the Trust and NOPM now to try and get things moving. As you say, we need to get the CET etc involved.

Yes, but it wouldn't empty. People have paid their money and love watching their team. It'll do more harm to our cause than good as some will return for future games if they enjoy the match. *I see you've answered Jimmy on this above. I don't have faith in people enough to expect them all to...

Also this is Sky's featured game. They always film around the ground prior to kickoff and interview supporters. We already know that the gantry they present from has the hill in the background, so it's perfect. This needs to be done.

The hill could hold 10,000 easy by the way. And it is closer than the above pic suggests

Yes! That's it! Bring drums and musical instruments! They cant stop is bringing them as we're not In the ground! We'll make an absolute racket. This is going to be really good!

I think you can get a few thousand on that hill.

I understand what you're saying, but it involves giving SISU cash, and some supporters will think "screw it, I've been into Sixfields now, so I'll go again".

Also it's quite unique. Many clubs have protests inside the ground (which go tits up generally if their team are winning). What other grounds have a massive hill looming over it from where the fans can not only be seen, but heard!

They haven't cordoned anything off so far have they? Going into the ground is what Fisher wants you to do.
  15. @richh87

    Sixfield rent

At the next opportunity, someone needs to put it to Fisher that their game plan is to distress ACL. I'd like to hear his excuse for why they are suing the council over a loan which in effect gave ACL the stability to offer CCFC lower rent. It doesn't make sense.

I must do Ferret, hardly Millwall are we? Most other clubs would have seen riots by now. I'm not saying that's what we need, but that our fans have always been more easy going, and dare I say it, apathetic.
  17. @richh87

    Coventry V Sheffield United

I disagree. More fans outside the ground than there are in it, standing on the hill with a huge police presence, would continue the message of never setting foot in Sixfields. Not only that but it'd cost SISU loads in extra policing. Nobody would get football banning orders either, as they would...
  18. @richh87

    Coventry V Sheffield United

You'd be giving SISU funds by staging a protest inside the ground, and if we were trouncing Sheff Utd many wouldn't leave. City fans (on the whole) have vowed never to set foot in Sixfields, so this is flawed. Also, our fans have never been very vocal or aggressive. I just don't see it going...

    Coventry V Sheffield United

I think a huge protest on the hill is the way to do it. - The Sky cameras would see us, and more protestors on the hill than in the ground would make headlines. - SISU wouldn't get a penny from it. - It would create increased policing costs and grab the locals' attention, forcing them to ask...

    Micky Adams

The season he kept us up after Peter Reid almost relegated us was good, and the season with Dennis Wise was a good one too. Doing a good job with Port Vale also, having just got them promoted to League 1. Also played for us as well as managing us, so a few reasons to like him.
