    Wrexham

Haha, shows how crap my memory is. Also, wikipedia says it was 9mil - but i'm sticking with 12.* *Ok i've been googling, it was £9mil. Bet it's still the record though!

I'm not even going to argue tonight - this result has really f*cking got me down.

Craig Gordon, £12mil to Sunderland from Rangers??

So the slimmer the manager the more you take him seriously about being in shape? Carlo Ancellotti? Phil Scholari?

We have abysmal owners though. What a shit result v Wrexham. F*ck sake. I'm so glad I haven't bought a season ticket this year.

    Three little birds

I heard that the under 12's lost to Kettering the other day. Obviously none of them will play against Yeovil; but I'm f*cking livid.

    Three little birds

So Thorn isn't allowed to put a crap team out simply to give them fitness? When will people learn - these games mean nothing. If our first team had lost to Nuneaton then yes, we'd have issues.

    The Thorn issue.

Sounds like someone who can't see the woods for the trees to me.
  9. @richh87

    The Thorn issue.

I think a "SISU are the worst owners in our entire history" line should set off more alarm bells. Ooh, free transfers we've never heard of to form the spine of a team that's lost Keogh, Cranie and Clingan. Thanks SISU?! We are Coventry City, even being in this division is an embarrassment...

    Hats off Andy Thorn

Newcastle lost pretty much all their friendlies the season they won the Championship. Next.

    Hats off Andy Thorn

Kids that are ready yes - Beckham etc were ready; not thrown in because half the first team f*cked off.

    Hats off Andy Thorn

You can't just gloss over losing that number of players and pretend Andy Thorn should cope. Let's take Man Utd as an example: If they announce today that money is tight due to the debt they're in, and that 9 first team players have to leave, including Vidic, Rooney, Ashley Young, Scholes, Phil...

    Hats off Andy Thorn

Also, those Managerial stats are a complete and utter waste of f*cking time. How about somebody compiles stats that compare points won with playing budget and squad size? You might find a few anomalies like Blackpool - but on the whole anyone with a brain those that those with the deepest...

    Hats off Andy Thorn

I'm sorry - I've just caught up with this thread. What a load of shit that we couldn't have signed Carroll and Henderson!!! For Christ sake they had both been labelled trouble makers by their clubs! In Henderson's case he wasn't exactly brilliant for us either - so I doubt the Sunderland...

Callum Ball: On wanting to score goals and his strengths

I know! It's a mystery. When King was with us we scored plenty - then he leaves and we stop scoring. Anyone would think there's some link between having good strikers and scoring goals... Of course the real answer simply HAS to be that it's because Thorn is sweaty.
  16. @richh87

    Jennings...

Bell was brilliant in that game to be fair! He just needs confidence I think. I think he'll have a good season - as will Baker.
  17. @richh87

    Martin Cranie - Your thoughts

More of a footballing centre back than most. Average in the air which is why he's been pushed out to full back so often, quick-ish unlike many Championship centre backs. His main strength is how tightly he marks players and the timing of his tackling is excellent always.

    Sydney Fc view of Cazarine

I'd rather form my own opinion than read Aussies' opinions on a 'soccer' player. Maybe A.T sees qualities in him that fit our system.
  19. @richh87

Thorn: Size matters and Bruno Cazarine confirmed on trial

Yes - I'd hope it would be that Cazarine bloke! Silky touch for a big man and really brave - could be ideal. Also - when you look at it, we HAVE now added lots of height to the team. And there was me moaning we only sign dwarves! Andy's quote suggests to me that Reece Brown will feature in...

CET: Three clubs looking at Hussey

Too much turmoil. We've already lost our spine; both CB's, 2 central midfielders in sideways Sammy and Norwood - and lost Platt and Nimely. I'd rather Hussey stayed really - we're going to struggle to gel as it is.
