...and 'The Trip to Italy' with Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan
Anybody like these series? I absolutely loved them but have not met another person who did as yet. There must be somebody out there?
In today's CT re Tudgay and Ricketts...
''...to be honest I put it on hold a little bit when the manager's situation was in the press''
Clearly TM's right hand man was not confident he would stay.
For what it's worth. It made me feel better to write it anyway!
I would say this though; one letter is easy to ignore, thousands are less so.
Dear Cllr Jayne Innes and Mr Geoffrey Robinson MP,
I am a lifelong supporter of Coventry City Football Club and a member of the Labour Party. I am...
I don't mean the clothes and the music, I mean old horror movies, ghost stories, castles and abbeys, the romantic poets, thunderstorms, crypts and anything dark and atmospheric?
Probably just me but I thought I'd ask.
TM reminded us when we were flying high that he had been in this position previously at least once (or was it twice) in his career and ended up mid-table.
By his own admission, he has form for this and what this would seem to suggest is that he is unwilling to change a team, particularly the...
''We have ascertained that the 11,000 crowd break even figure, which we predicted at the start of the season, is inaccurate and it is actually more like 14,000, on a constant yield basis.''
WTF? Inaccurate by 3K?
Sorry if this has already been posted.
Apologies if already posted but...
With the Maddison loan back taking us to 6 this surely leaves us in a spot;
We still need by TM's own admission a striker and a winger but with loans now not an option, where are those players going to come from?
TM that is... and I'm talking about his bottle not his testicles (although I'm sure they are high quality)
For holding his nerve, not panicking, doing it his way and playing the waiting game despite increasing pressure. Respect.
I would be urging them to seize the moment and release a statement along the lines of:
''Having noted the recent remarks of our manager Tony Mowbray regarding his frustrations around the playing budget, and in light of the recent positivity around the club and its supporters, the owners of CCFC...
...Or the law of averages?
Surely we are due a break. They say things average out over a season... what about over 10 seasons? It's time the footy gods smiled upon us, we must surely be due a decent season?
Anyone superstitious?
Neither Martin or Swanson appear in this section but Johnson and Tudgay do even though they have yet to sign, nothing on Stokes though.
And George Thomas is listed as a midfielder.
It can't be that hard to get this stuff right surely? Or am I being a bit OCD?
There seems to be a growing anxiety, perhaps due to raised expectations from a few good news stories and a lack of transfer activity. I feel your pain but I say Keep the Faith and let TM do his stuff in his own time. There are reasons to be cheerful, let's be patient and see how this plays...
...and slide tackles through dog shit.
Where did you play footy as a kid? Which Coventry parks and streets did you use?
Who were your footy hero's at the time? Who did you pretend to be as you smashed one in the imaginary top corner during '3 and in'?
(Just thought I'd lighten the mood)
