National Cross Country Championships yesterday at Parliament Hill in London. Underfoot conditions were absolutely abysmal, but for once at theNational it was pleasant and sunny instead of absolutely freezing. Due to the huge numbers,(about 2100 starters in the men's race) they usually have...

    Points for Play offs

I expect we'll get 70/71pts. And expect 75-77 required for playoffs.

Club night with Godiva... 6 x half mile reps with 90secs rest. 2:53 2:50 2:52 2:55 2:53 2:52 Even squeezed a lucky 7th rep out... 2:53 Pleased with that after a hard race at the weekend. Easy miles all the way to saturday now, with the National Champs in London.

    Reality Check

I did one of those predictor things right through to the end of the season. Whilst i didn't have us to win last night (nor lose to Cardiff last week), the season did follow a similar pattern.... we got right back up level with the playoff points. Although we did tail off towards the end of the...

    League 1

Although for what its worth i think they'll probably sneak in the playoffs this season... and then its a complete lottery whether they'll come up or not.

    League 1

I was reading a bit of their forum over the weekend... seems they've got some Director Of Football team in place.... not 100% following who they are, and the fans seem to be "hoying shit" at everyone... players, managers, director of football, owners.... but the Director Of Football team...

    League 1

I was at the first L1 game, Yeovil away... our fans singing "we'll never play you again" after we went a goal up inside 10mins... i did think that song was a little premature!

    League 1

Sunderland really seem to have hit the self-destruct button. Can argue the rights and wrongs of sacking their previous manager... reading their forum it seems that losing 6-0 to Bolton was "unacceptable" and was the final straw for many... but from the outside, they were around 3rd place and...

The final league cross-country fixture yesterday at Leamington. Really nasty underfoot conditions. had my best ever placing, finally getting into the top 150 (136th), although to be honest it was this fixture that i'd been targeting, being a notoriously nasty and hilly course it suited my...

    The 92 Club

The two most shocking away trips for me were both around mid-2000's when we were in the championship. Gillingham away under Peter Reid. It was between xmas and new year, and was absolutely freezing.... i travelled down with a mate who had only just passed his driving test, so the 4 hours each...

    The 92 Club

I remember that game. Travelled up via car and had to divert round Manchester because of horrific M6 traffic. Ended up in Accrington at lunchtime, unable to find anywhere to get anything to eat. Arrived in Burnley and went to a pub in the backstreets of that estate opposite the ground...

    Running

Club night, 3 x 1 mile reps around Warwick Uni, with 2 minute rests. 5:46 5:48 5:51 (although had to negotiate round a couple of cars on this one) Decent session, running reps under 5:50 is decent by my own standards. A solid start to the week, 29 miles in last two days.

    CET predictor

I did a predictor all the way to end of season, which had us missing out by about 6pts (along with Forest and Stoke). WBA picking up and sneaking in. Also had Derby staying up on final day.

    New stadium update:

I think the fact that we have a slightly different stand, hardly marks it out as unique compared to Leicester, Middlesborough, Soton, etc. As much as we all allegedly love the stadium now we're doing well, its still an indentikit off-the-shelf modern stadium. As much as i'd love us to stick two...

    Running

I use treadmill often, as being a fellrunner, its an easy way to get the climb in. You can (obviously) do any routine that you can do on the roads.... for some reason i prefer to do treadmill interval sessions based on time, rather than distance, perhaps because treadmill running doesn't quite...

    Running

Had a run round Bedworth Parkrun this morning. It was the 4th anniversary and was far busier than usual. WIth a good 100 more people than usual. And a higher number of quicker runners at the front end as well (was the first time i've ever been outside the top 3 or 4). A steady 19:32, although...

‘The best team we’ve played this season’

Of course, if O'Hare and Hamer start knocking in a decent tally of goals, while continuing to play to their current level in other areas, they'll be gone from us very quickly.

    CBS Arena

I remember when it first opened they had a gym in there. It was superb, i'd say best gym in Cov. Also had a sauna/steam room, and as part of membership you could run round the cinder "track" round the pitch. Got closed down after a few years and used for office space. An absolute waste of a...

    Running

3:30km pace for me is 3000mtrs race pace (or it was last time i did it... could perhaps take a few seconds off that now). Can run consistent km reps in close to 3:20, but stringing them together is a different matter! Hoping to perhaps run a couple of track races for Godiva in the league this...
