    Our position

I would imagine the points tally for survival this year will be a little less than the average requirement. Low-mid 40's at a guess?

    I'd say 1992.

    Running

I was probably being a little too basic in my first couple of replies.. if you're already doing 40mpw you've probably got a fair idea of what you're doing. My only advice would therefore be to join a local club... they'll give you much more advanced advice. And the vast majority of clubs...

    Running

I think a rule-of-thumb is that you need to do three miles of cycling to match 1 mile of running (again a very broad rule which doesn't really take into account any personal variables). Therefore it would read that every five miles you drop from running, you could do 15 miles on the bike...

    Match Thread Birmingham City

Whilst i am sat firmly in the "don't panic" camp... we now have a run of games where the onus is very much on us to pick up a reasonable tally of points... it does add pressure... i hope that if we were to lose this one, we continue to not panic (although i expect the board to reach...

    Running

It's also very much worth me saying... If you currently run, for example 10 miles per week, and decide that a "good" mileage for you is 30.... don't just go straight out expecting to be able to do that overnight with no issues... that is the way to a host of issues, niggles in your...

    Running

I don't think there are any set criteria for what is a "good" mileage each week. It does, as you say, depend on age/weight/current fitness, etc. It's very personal... but i'd say if you are able to go out four times a week and run steadily for perhaps 45mins, and can generally do that...

    Lets be realistic

Correct.... i have nothing to back it up... just my memory (which may be incorrect, who knows). I don't take the internet seriously enough to feel the need to "back it up". If i'm wrong so be it.

    Lets be realistic

Yes that could happen. We could also be 4pts clear of the bottom three if results go our way. If you think i'm spending my sunday afternoon trawling through pages of this forum to prove a point then you're very much mistaken. But i distinctly remember a post after the Reading match where you...

    Lets be realistic

You said similar before Reading/Forest.... "we'll be six points behind and doomed" Then after we beat Reading, claimed all was good in the world. Now back to doomsday scenario after an encouraging (but admittedly mistake-tainted) performance. You're not exactly providing any stunning...

    Lets be realistic

At the start of the season, surely all of us would have looked at our fixtures and thought "if we're actually outside of the relegation zone mid-November, i'll snap your hand off". Which we are... We are par for the course. We made frustrating mistakes last season, and the season before. They...

    Green shoots

Don't worry about it... he was about to commit hari-kari after the Middlesboro game... then "everything's gonna be alright" after Reading... Next win he'll say we'll be challenging for the playoffs.

What three clubs are we going to better to stay up ?

After today we'll have played 5 (or is it 6?) of the top 7... the next run of 10 fixtures is kinder. If we are in the bottom three after 20 games i think the panic will be more justified. At the moment we are probably doing par for the course (ie clearly outclassing a couple of better-regarded...

    Running

Ran the Bedworth Parkrun course again this morning. Much improved on a fornight ago with an 18:37. Still not quite where i want to be, but only 3 seconds off a pb, and without other runners to chase down, i'm fairly happy with that.

Brum Game moved to Friday on Sky

I watch most of my foreign football (in fact most of my football) via Bet365, which has absolutely no commentary the vast majority of the time. Far better experience. I said it recently in another thread... this is too dangerous for the likes of Sky, who need to keep employing hysterical...

Brum Game moved to Friday on Sky

I think the assumption that Sky hate us is seen very much through "Sky Blue eyes". Yes, the coverage last friday was rather heavily weighted towards Reading... but the fact is they are/were pissing the league, probably expected to destroy us, and have been a much higher-profile team than us in...

    Next 6 games

I think i'd settle for 7, so long as the defeats don't come against Forest or Derby.

    Man beheaded in Paris

This may well be the case... but switch on Sky News, BBC News, RT, (other news channels are of course available).... and you'd be forgiven for thinking that there is far more condemnation for the nation of France for allowing the publication of cartoons (by an independent newspaper), than a...

    Man beheaded in Paris

I really should know better than to get involved in this thread... But i think the main issue is, whenever there is an act of terror which appears to have originated from within the Muslim (world) community, there appears to be very little condemnation from within the powers-that-be (such as...

    Cringe worthy

Totally agree on the flag, it is shocking... but it's no worse than anything other clubs churn out. Anyone got that video of the Reading song!?!?
