ACL and the City Council announcement

Grendel: Many of us support the council's action because we could easily envisage the following scenario: 1. ACL file for bankruptcy due to cash flow problems caused largely by SISU's non-payment of rent. 2. As a sitting tenant, SISU buy the lease from the administrator relatively cheaply...

ACL and the City Council announcement

The above was an email I received this morning from SBI (which is affiliated to the club - see the CCFC home page). In my opinion, this is good news as I believe it will force SISU to find a new owner. Any prospective new owner will obviously need to negotiate with the council/ACL over the...

ACL and the City Council announcement

Bye bye SISU? Or administration here we come? Dear , The news that Coventry City Council has bailed out Arena Coventry Limited means SISU are stuffed, in my humble opinion. What it means is that SISU's long-held dream of acquiring the Ricoh Arena and the goldmine land around it is dead. ACL...

Coventry city 2001-02 season some goals

Sheffers goal at the end is one of the best I have ever seen in terms of controlling the pass before shooting.

    Villa in the bottom 3

The last time Villa went down, Cov won the cup. So it looks as though the stars are coming into alignment. As for the posters above who say they don't care about the Villa - WTF! They are the most despised set of fans in the whole of the Midlands and I for one would absolutely love it if they...

    Joy, TF, Wag, MR

psgm1 gave himself away when he wrote: "Elliott score 3 goals in 2 games (hardly what you would call prolific)."

CET: The deal turned down by sisu revealed

Well I would be paying 2K+ to fly back to the UK for a JPT final and there are plenty more expats like me who would do the same. I suppose you think we should all be paying that every week to fly over for the games. I sympathize with your sentiments regarding the stay away fans who live in Cov...

    Sky blue pubs?

I'm afraid it closed (it used to be in Holland Village). Anyway it wasn't really a Cov bar as such. It was a sports bar with one small section of a wall that had a bit of Cov memorabilia. The guy who owned it owns several bars over here but as far as I know he hasn't put his Cov stuff in any of...

This manager of the month "curse"

Absolutely correct. There is no need to test the theory as it is already well known in statistics. In fact James Heckman won a Nobel prize in economics for showing how to account for this statistical bias.

Mark Robins asks City Fans to be patient

I thought his most interesting (and damning) comment was on the players' lack of fitness:

Mark Robins, a manager saying it like it is.

To be fair it's easy for a new manager to "tell it how it is". If he says we are cr@p it just means that "I have inherited a poor team from the previous manager so don't blame me." I will be more impressed if he is still "telling it how it is" in six months time.

    Mars Bars Anyone

I believe Gazza has a similar story where he got his mate Jimmy 5 bellies to eat a turd mince pie. Only I think his story is a bit more believable than yours, Otis.;)

    Mars Bars Anyone

I remember watching City at Spurs when some city fan threw a Mars bar at Gazza. He picked it up and ate half of it - wrapper and all.:):)

    I've f-ing had it!!

Fair play to you...I completely understand where you're coming from. I come over for a couple of games each season and it costs me around a grand. The only point I would quibble with is your assertion that we will be in L1 for 2 seasons at least. Are you that confident we will stay up??

    Mark Robins (a Barnsley perspective)

Christ almighty. Well there's no danger of that happening here. We are paying wages of around £3,000 per week. Our players can't afford to buy drugs.:):)

    Robins is....

It's very premature to make a decision before the guy has even arrived. Think back to 1961(ish?). City have just lost to King's Lynn and appointed JH. A. Unproven - correct JH has never managed before B. Not an ass kicker - can't say anything about this for Robins or JH (based on...

CET: TF & SW completed interviews yesterday

That was my first ever game - 1978 if I recall correctly. I remember that Nardiello was wearing an arm cast due to a fracture.
